Eddie Kingston Announces Hernia Injury & “Most Likely” Will Undergo Surgery

Thursday’s Ring of Honor’s ROH TV show featured a video promo segment with Eddie Kingston.

While discussing his loss to Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship at this past March’s Supercard of Honor 2023 event, Kingston revealed that he has been dealing with a hernia injury since this past September. Kingston also stated that this injury was made worse from his match with Castagnoli at the event.

Kingston also stated that he “most likely” will need to undergo surgery to fix his hernia.

Prior to his announcement, New Japan Pro Wrestling had announced earlier this week that they had pulled Kingston from their upcoming Collision in Philadelphia 2023 event this Sunday due to this injury that was undisclosed at the time


MLW News & Notes

As noted before, Major League Wrestling’s current television deal with REELZ Channel is believed to be ten weeks in length and is expected to expire due to issues over REELZ’s recent streaming deal with Peacock. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources MLW’s Underground series is currently scheduled to air on REELZ through the month of May.

MLW recently announced that the next season of their MLW Fusion television series will be debuting in “just a few weeks.” It was also announced that this upcoming new season will be featuring their 2023 Super Series.

MLW reportedly recently hired the services of Range Media Partners to help shop around their own Premium Live Event (PLE) package to interested parties, according to Fightful Select.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Alex Hammerstone suffered a potential groin injury at MLW’s War Chamber 2023 event last week in New York City, New York. Johnson reported that MLW officials currently believe that Hammerstone’s injury was not serious nor is he expected to miss any time.

MLW reportedly is currently planning to hold an additional two tapings for weekends they hold television tapings going forward, according to PWInsider. Mike Johnson reported that besides New York City and Philadelphia, MLW officials are currently interested in holding television tapings in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, and Houston.

MLW officials reportedly are also currently working on plans for a big push to be given to Rickey Shane Page this summer, according to PWInsider.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Premier Streaming Network announced that actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prince Jr. recently joined the company’s ownership team. It was also announced that Prince Jr. will be helping the company’s growth of their streaming service.

Indie wrestler LuFisto announced on Twitter that she has cancelled several of her scheduled upcoming indies bookings due to her recently suffering a mild concussion and cervical sprain injury at her day job. LuFisto also stated that she is currently hopeful of being able to return to the ring by the end of this month.

Major League Wrestling talent and indie wrestler Matthew Justice announced on Twitter that he recently suffered a broken hand injury and is also currently dealing with an infection. Justice also announced that he is currently expected to be out of action for at least one month.

In a recent episode of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, co-host Konnan stated that Rey Mysterio and himself had recently told El Hijo del Vikingo to tone down his moveset in order to preserve his career’s long term health. Konnan stated “Not only have I told him, I had Rey Mysterio tell him. He already needs a knee operation and Rey has had 14, so I told him to talk to Rey and Rey’s giving him very good advice because I want that guy to last. Impact Wrestling announced that tickets for this Sunday’s Rebellion 2023 event in Toronto, Canada recently reached sold out status.

Impact also announced one new match and one updated match for the card of their Rebellion 2023 event on April 16th in Toronto, Canada:
