Eric Young WWE Status Update

As noted before, Eric Young left Impact Wrestling this past December and signed a contract with WWE to return to the company.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Young is still under contract with WWE despite him having yet to make an official return.

It was reported that Impact officials had been aware this past October that Young would be leaving once his contract expired due to him being recruited by WWE’s new regime led by Paul “Triple H” Levesque to return back to their company.

It was also reported that Young has been under contract with WWE since November 1st of last year and he is not believed to have been in attendance backstage at any WWE show since his signing.


A&E WWE Programming Ratings – April 9, 2023

This past Sunday’s Biography: WWE Legends episode drew 461,000 viewers on A&E. This episode also drew a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a #21 ranking in the key demographic rankings. This was up compared to the prior two week’s of 338,000 viewers, a 0.11 key demographic rating, and a #27 key demographic ranking. This episode focused on WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.

This past Sunday’s WWE Rivals drew 427,000 viewers on A&E. This episode also drew a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a #20 ranking in the key demographic rankings. This was up compared to the prior two week’s 362,000 viewers and 0.13 rating. This episode focused on the famous The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton feud.

Team USA recently announced that NXT talent Gable Steveson will be making his return to amateur wrestling for this year’s U.S. Open wrestling tournament on April 26-30 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was also announced that this upcoming event could act as the first step in Steveson potentially competing for Team USA in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

WWE recently announced that “ANIMAL” by PVRIS is the official theme song for their upcoming NXT Battleground event on May 28th in Lowell, Massachusetts.

NXT talents Tyler Bate and Zoey Stark reportedly were in attendance backstage at WWE’s RAW show this past Monday in Seattle, Washington, according to the Wrestling Observer. Dave Meltzer reported that Bate and Stark’s competed in matches for this Thursday’s Main Event show that was taped prior to the start of RAW.

Wrestling historian and writer Tim Hornbaker recently announced on Twitter that he is currently in the process of writing a new book based on Ric Flair. Horbaker also stated that the title of this upcoming new book is The Last Real World Champion: The Legacy of ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair and is currently scheduled to be released this September.

Deadline.com reported that WWE was recently nominated for a Sports Emmy Award in the Outstanding Long Documentary category for their 2022 documentary film Woooo! Becoming Ric Flair.

Indie wrestler Westin Blake, former Wesley Blake in WWE, reportedly was recently hired by WWE to be a coach for their Performance Center, according to Fightful Select.

WWE recently released the first official poster for this year’s SummerSlam event on August 5th in Detroit, Michigan.

WWE NIL signees Hanna and Haley Cavinder recently announced on Instagram that they will be forgoing their fifth year of NCAA eligibility with the University of Miami in order to focus on starting a “new chapter” of their lives.
