In-Ring: Triple H

“It’s time to play The Game.”

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation! The crowd is fired up, as is Triple H. Triple H shouts, “Welcome to Monday Night Raw!” If he wasn’t already on a high from this weekend, he sure is now. That reaction was unbelievable. Triple H says it was quite the weekend. 161,000 fans jam-packed into SoFi Stadium for the ultimate spectacle of an event that truly lived up to its name: the Grandest Stage of the All. It was an event 40 years in the making. From one man’s vision for WrestleMania at Madison Square Garden to four decades later in LA at SoFi Stadium, packed to the rafters, and beyond his wildest expectations.

Triple H is out here to say, “Thank you.” Triple H thanks every superstar in the back and every performer that has ever come through these ropes and graced this ring. They lay their bodies on the line every week. Triple H thanks them. Triple H also wants to take a moment to say “thank you” to the staff and crew that make an event like WrestleMania possible and even Monday Night Raw possible. Every member of the crew, including Stu on camera, Triple H thanks. The crowd chants for Stu, and Stu waves back.

Triple H says the people behind the scenes make this possible. He walked into SoFi Stadium. No matter how many times he has seen the drawings and photos of it being built, when he actually saw that set, it took his breath away. They make the spectacle of what they do possible. Triple H wants to take one more moment to thank the most important people: the WWE Universe. The fans are the people that make it possible for them to do what they do day in and day out. Triple H thanks the fans.

A “Triple H” chant picks up. On a day when WWE is dominating the news and social media, the day after WrestleMania when they are water cooler talk and all anyone wants to talk about, WWE makes an announcement that is all everyone wants to talk about. Triple H says, “I am here to assure you that we ain’t going nowhere! The same WWE that you love, the same WWE that put 161,000 people to the rafters in SoFi Stadium, is going nowhere! The same WWE that you love… the superstars, the action, the drama, all of it… we are going nowhere! We will be here week in and week out, event after event, sold-out arena after sold-out arena, packed stadium after packed stadium, because we are the WWE!” The crowd loudly roars. Just like it says in the beginning: Then, now, forever… TOGETHER! The crowd gives Triple H a great ovation.

With that said, Triple H wants to ask for one thing: please help him acknowledge one more person. 946 days… the crowd is booing. Triple H introduces the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns!

In-Ring: Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring and shakes hands with Triple H. “The Wise Man” Paul Heyman and “The Enforcer” Solo Sikoa stand at his side. Reigns poses as pyrotechnics go off. The crowd is loudly booing him. Reigns stands around and says nothing. A loud “Roman sucks” chant picks up. Reigns has a cut on his forehead from his war in the main event of WrestleMania last night against “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.

Reigns says, “I guess after last night’s performance, we should probably do it like this tonight. Hollywood… acknowledge me!”

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation. Rhodes came up short of finishing the story against Roman Reigns last night at WrestleMania. Rhodes gets in the ring and stares at the man who beat him the night before and crushed his dream. A “Cody” chant picks up. Rhodes says he knows what he wants to talk about. Today is turning out a lot differently for him than he anticipated. Rhodes thought he would be standing here as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Rhodes can see he doesn’t have it. Rhodes will acknowledge this: last night in the main event of WrestleMania 39, Reigns was the better competitor. Reigns smirks. Rhodes says we always have to do this with the world watching, but he wishes the interference wasn’t a factor. Rhodes knows that Reigns knows he has won matches that he narrowly skated by. Last night wasn’t the case. Last night, Rhodes had him. Reigns shakes his head.

Rhodes says he knew what he wanted to talk about… it boils down to just one word: rematch!

Paul Heyman comes up to Reigns and asks for the microphone. Reigns gives it to The Wise Man. Heyman says he was thinking, on behalf of The Tribal Chief, when exactly would Rhodes like this hypothetical rematch. Rhodes laughs and then says, “Tonight!” The crowd explodes! Reigns sneers and looks at Rhodes. Heyman says, “No rematch!” Heyman says not tonight, not in Puerto Rico, not at SummerSlam, not at Survivor Series, not at the Royal Rumble, not at Madison Square Garden, not in San Francisco where life does exist in California. The crowd is not happy. Heyman says that’s called “calling the shots” because you live on the Island of Relevancy.

Rhodes asks “Mr. Heyman” if he thinks he’s in a normal mood for the games and chicanery. After everything he went through in his entire career for last night to happen to him. Rhodes says it’s time to cut to the chase: Reigns doesn’t want to do the rematch and give the people what they want. Since he had to face all of them anyway, Rhodes suggests a tag team match so they can do something. Heyman consults with The Tribal Chief. Heyman says the challenge has been accepted. There are two parameters: if someone is stupid enough in the locker room to team with him, they have to have competed at WrestleMania this past weekend. Also, if they lose to Reigns and Sikoa, they can never compete for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship as long as Reigns holds the title!

Brock Lesnar’s music hits! Lesnar comes out to a HUGE ovation. Lesnar is already banned from going for the title since he lost to Reigns at SummerSlam last year. The stipulation doesn’t impact him. Lesnar gets in the ring and shakes hands with Rhodes! Reigns looks disgusted and leaves the ring. Heyman looks stunned. Lesnar and Rhodes celebrate in the ring.

We go backstage to see The Usos walking backstage. They knock on Roman Reigns’s door. Paul Heyman comes out and greets them. They want to talk to Reigns, but Heyman says he stepped out with Solo Sikoa. They’re strategizing about Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes. Heyman says Reigns wants them to know that the weekend was good for some. Heyman says the jet is fired up and there is fresh seafood. The Usos pat Heyman on the shoulder a little roughly and walk off. Heyman reenters the locker room and is heard saying, “I took care of it.”

A “You still suck” chant picks up. Theory says he doesn’t suck because he beat John Cena. A “Cena” chant picks up. Theory says Cena isn’t here and is a part-timer. Mysterio is just like Cena. They should be chanting his name at the top of their lungs. A “Rey” chant picks up. All that’s going to happen is Theory is going to beat Mysterio and add him to the collection.
