AEW Fight Forever Status Update

Fightful Select reported that their sources recently provided several new details regarding the current status and release date rumors for AEW’s upcoming Fight Forever video game.

Those spoken to close to the game’s developer Yukes reportedly stated that they currently believe that an announcement regarding the game’s release date will be coming sooner than later. Fightful alumni Mike Straw reportedly had recently stated on Twitter that he had been told by his own sources that the release date is currently set to be close to the date of AEW and NJPW’s upcoming Forbidden Door II event this June. It was also reported that this was something that their sources have yet to confirm to be true.

In regards to the various release dates that had been posted by online retailers over the past several months, those spoken to reportedly stated that those dates were not rooted in any truth.

In regards to the recently leaked list of Achievements for the game and people currently being able to pre-install the game on Xbox, it was reported that this usually does not happen until close to a release date. Those spoken to reportedly only stated that a release date is set to be announced “fairly soon” but gave no other details.

In regards to the game’s development, it was reported that many of those who had worked on the game had wrapped up their involvement as far back as a year ago. Yukes and AEW reportedly had the internal hope at one point that the game would be able to be released in Fall of 2022, which ended up not taking place. Those spoken to this past April who were still working on the game reportedly stated that the game was doing well but not 100 percent done.

In regards to the game’s playable roster, it was reported that their sources did not provide any new updates regarding if the cut-off date for the game’s Day One roster had been pushed to a new date following its original date passing and the game not being finished in time.

It was also reported that due to the game being set for a T for Teen rating, Yukes had to tone down some of the gore and blood originally planned to be featured in the game in order to be able to reach that rating from the ESRB.
