The city of Orlando reportedly is currently preparing to make an official bid to WWE to be the potential host city of next year’s Royal Rumble event, according to WESH 2.
It was reported that their sources stated that the Tourist Development Tax Sports incentive Committee recently requested around $850,000 from the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to make an official bid for next year’s Royal Rumble event. This bid reportedly is expected to be given to WWE today.
It was also reported that should Orlando be announced as the host, next year’s Royal Rumble event would take place at the Camping World Stadium.
Orange County officials reportedly stated that the attendance for this event would be around 54,000 and could generate an economic impact of $28 million for the city and region. It was reported that if the bid were to be unsuccessful, then the funds requested would be returned to the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
