More on CM Punk Attending Impact’s Tapings in Chicago This Past Weekend

As noted before, CM Punk was in attendance backstage at Impact Wrestling’s television tapings this past Saturday in Chicago, Illinois.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that CM Punk had played a game of Uno with an unnamed Impact talent backstage as part of his visit.

Punk reportedly also spoke with over a dozen Impact talents and exchanged pleasantries during his visit. Those spoken to stated that Punk had some kind words for a couple of the wrestlers that he had met backstage.

Those within Impact spoken to reportedly stated that Punk was in a good mood and happy to be there throughout his visit.

It was reported that there are currently no plans for Punk to do any kind of work with Impact Wrestling and he is still planned to lead AEW’s upcoming new Collision brand starting this June.

Nick Aldis Impact Contract Status Update

As noted before, Nick Aldis made his official return to Impact Wrestling at last month’s Rebellion 2023 event and recently signed an official contract with the company.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Aldis’ current contract with Impact is a short-term type deal stated to resemble a “feeling out process” for both sides.

Those spoken to stated that Aldis’ current priority is wanting to see how things work out for him and also wanting to have a positive impact on the company. Aldis reportedly did not want the status of his current deal to overshadow the work being done in the company.

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

VICE TV’s parent company Vice Media Group reportedly is currently preparing to file for bankruptcy soon, according to the New York Times. It was reported that Vice Media Group has struggled to find a new buyer that would keep the company afloat due to their serious financial-related issues. In regards to wrestling, VICE TV is the current home of the Dark Side of the Ring series.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced that Jon Moxley will be making an appearance for the company at their Resurgence 2023 event on May 21st in Long Beach, California.

As noted before, Richard Holliday’s contract with Major League Wrestling expired this past April. Prior to his departure, Holliday had been out of action for MLW from June of 2022 to this past February due to Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which he successful completed chemotherapy treatments for his cancer this past February. This past Sunday’s THIRTY (+under) event for Beyond Wrestling in Worcester, Massachusetts featured Holliday making a surprise appearance and announced to the crowd that his cancer is in remission.

Xtreme Pro Wrestling announced that Tessa Blanchard recently signed an official contract with the company. It was announced that Blanchard’s contract is a per-date type deal for multiple shows with the company.

Pro Wrestling NOAH recently announced that Josh Barnett will be making an appearance for the company at their Majestic event on May 4th in Tokyo, Japan. It was also announced that Barnett will be working as a special guest commentator at their upcoming event.

Prestige Wrestling recently announced that Malakai Black will be making an appearance for the company at their All Rise event on July 23rd in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Daniel Garcia recently reflected on Twitter about his current PWG World Championship reign reaching the milestone mark of one year on Monday.

At a recent event for GNPW Legends Never Die , indie wrestler and former Impact Wrestling talent Larry D announced that he will be retiring from wrestling this November. Larry D also announced that his retirement match will be taking place on November 4th.

Impact recently announced a new match for the card of their Under Siege 2023 event on May 26th in London, Ontario, Canada:
