Impact TV Tapings Summer Sizzler 2023 Night 1 Spoilers – Former Impact Talent Returns

Impact Wrestling held the first of a two-night new set of Impact! television tapings on Friday at the Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia.

This new set of tapings were Summer Sizzler themed and focused on the build for their upcoming Slammiversary 2023 event in July 15th in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

In regards to notable moments from the first night of tapings, former Impact talent Zachary Wentz made his surprise return to the company and reunited The Rascalz with Trey Miguel.

Full results from Impact’s Summer Sizzler Night 1 spoilers:

  • Before The Impact – Dirty Dango defeated Crazzy Steve by pinfall via Inverted DDT. Following the match, Dango gave a promo calling out Santino Marella and saying he was a disgrace. Marella came out and engaged in a back-and-forth banter until Heath ran out and attacked Dango from behind.
  • Impact X-Division Championship – Chris Sabin (c) defeated Trey Miguel by disqualification. During the match, Zachary Wentz made his surprise return and attacked Sabin resulting in the ref calling for the bell for the disqualification. Alex Shelley ran out to save Sabin from Wentz and Miguel’s post-match attack.
  • Lio Rush defeated Jack Price
  • Masha Slamovich defeated KiLynn King. During the match, Killer Kelly ran out and choked out Taylor Wilde at ringside with a chain. Slamovich and Kelly left together after the match.
  • Kenny King defeated Yuya Uemura by pinfall via Royal Flush. Following the match, Joe Hendry interrupted King’s victory celebration and played a new music video making fun of King’s Chippendale male dancer past.
  • Nick Aldis gave a promo discussing his recent attack on current Impact World Champion Alex Shelley. and discussed attacking IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley. Aldis called out Shelley resulting in Shelley coming out and being told why he was attacked. This resulted in a brawl between Aldis and Shelley that also involved Chris Sabin coming out to try to save Shelley and Lio Rush coming out to help Aldis beat down Shelley and Sabin.
  • Eddie Edwards defeated Frankie Kazarian
  • Sami Callihan & Rich Swann defeated Champagne Singh & Shera
  • Jonathan Gresham defeated Angels by submission via Octopus Stretch. The Design’s Kon and Deaner came out with Angels to be in his corner. Following the match, Gresham asked for a handshake with Angels resulting in Deaner yelling at Angels to not accept it. Angels pushed Deaner away and shook Greasham’s hand and walked off with Gresham.
  • Gisele Shaw defeated Courtney Rush by pinfall via Roll-up
  • Before The Impact – Johnny Swinger defeated Chic Donovan. Followjng the match, Ernest “The Cat” Miller came out and officially had the match restarted. This resulted in Donovan getting the victory after Zicky Dice counted the pin as the match ref.
  • Chris Bey defeated Kevin Knight
  • IMPACT Knockouts World Championship – Deonna Purrazzo (c) defeated Taylor Wilde by pinfall via Queen’s Gambit
  • IMPACT World Championship – Alex Shelley (c) defeated Brian Myers
  • Street Fight match – Steve Maclin defeated PCO. Following the match, Maclin gave a promo and called himself the King of Extreme. This led to Tommy Dreamer making his return and brawled with Maclin. PCO joined in on the brawl and took out Maclin with a chokeslam. Dreamer then gave a speech to the crowd stating that last match at the Center Stage was in 2000 and talked about his mother’s recent passing and his own battle with skin cancer. Dreamer also praised the Impact locker room as the reason he keeps coming back and promised to not fade away and will be performing at Saturday’s Night 2 tapings.
