AEW Injury Updates for Wheeler Yuta, Jamie Hayter, Thunder Rosa, Santana, & Dante Martin

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources provided several new injury updates for Wheeler Yuta, Jamie Hayter, Thunder Rosa, Santana, and Dante Martin.

Wheeler Yuta

In regards to Yuta’s hamstring injury, Meltzer reported that the exact nature of Yuta’s injury going into last week’s Blood & Guts match was a partially torn hamstring.

Jamie Hayter

In regards to Hayter’s injury status, Meltzer reported that those spoken to did not provide any new updates beyond stating that the current belief within AEW is that she is not expected to be medically cleared in time for next month’s All In event at Wembley Stadium.

Fightful Select reported that their sources provided additional details regarding the current status of Hayter’s injury recovery. It was reported that those spoken to confirmed Meltzer’s report of AEW officials not expecting Hayter to return in time for their upcoming All In event baring a “miraculously recovery.” Those same sources reportedly also stated that the chances of Hayter returning by the end of this year is “unexpected” and AEW officials currently do not have any timetable for her potential return.

Hayter has been out of action for AEW since this past May due to a shoulder-related injury.

Thunder Rosa

In regards to Rosa, Meltzer reported that Rosa has recently been doing in-ring training with Shoichi Funaki, former WWE wrestler Funaki, in San Antonio, Texas for her potential return from injury.

Rosa has been out of action for AEW since this past September due to a spinal-related injury.

Santana

In regards to Santana, Meltzer reported that Santana has recently been training for his return from injury.

In an interesting note, a recent update to AEW’s official roster page listed both Santana and Ortiz as a tag team under their Proud & Powerful name. This could be an indication that Santana and Ortiz recently resolved the issues they had together that led to them splitting up for real as a tag team and Santana wanting to leave AEW while Ortiz wanted to stay.

Santana has been out of action for AEW since June of 2022 due to a knee injury.

Dante Martin

In regards to Martin, Meltzer reported that besides Ring of Honor commentator Ian Riccaboni recently mentioning that Martin has been progressing well ahead of schedule, there has basically been a blackout in regards to details of his recovery. Meltzer reported that the only other update in the past few weeks was that there was good news regarding how he has been recovering.

Martin has been out of action for AEW and ROH since this past March due to a broken ankle and lower leg injury.
