AEW Rampage Notes: Two Blind Eliminator Tag Tournament Matches

Friday’s AEW Rampage show in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada featured two Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament Quarterfinals matches.

The first tournament match on the show featured the Jericho Appreciation Society’s Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia defeating Jeff Jarrett & Matt Hardy.

The finish to this match involved Hardy attempting a Twist of Fate to Garcia only for Garcia to escape and tag in Guevara. Sonjay Dutt distracted the referee leading to Jay Lethal sliding in a guitar for Hardy to use only for Hardy to kick it away. This led to Hardy getting hoisted up for a GTH by Guevara, whowalked to towards Garcia for the blind tag before hitting the GTH. Garcia then got the easy pinfall victory and him and Guevara advancing to the next round of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament.

The second tournament match on the show featured Brian Cage & Big Bill defeating Trent Beretta & Matt Sydal.

The finish to this match involved Sydal attempting a Meteora to Cage only for Cage to catch and toss him into the turnbuckles. Cage then tried to give a powerbomb to Sydal off the top rope only for Beretta to leap up and hit a German Suplex to Cage off the top rope instead. Beretta than hit Cage with a Piledriver and Sydal followed it up with a Meteora for a near fall. Sydal and Beretta then hit a double superkick to Bill who just shrugged it off and nailed both of them with a double clothesline. This led to Cage holding Sydal up in the air from a powerbomb position allowing Bill to hit a stiff lariat to Sydal laying him out for the pinfall victory and him and Cage advancing to the next round of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament.

Guevara & Garcia will face off against Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin while Brian Cage & Big Bill will face off against MJF & Adam Cole in the Semifinals round of the Blind Elminator Tag tournament.
