AEW Made Changes to Original Plans for Blood & Guts Match Over Timing Issues

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Boston, Massachusetts featured a Blood & Guts match between the Blackpool Combat Club’s team and the Golden Elite, which was won by the Golden Elite. Following the match, Kenny Omega gave a speech to the crowd that did not air on the show.

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reported that his sources stated that AEW officials had to make several changes to their original plans for the match as the match was going on due to timing-related issues.

Barrasso reported that the original plans were for the match to end around ten minutes before the actual end of the show and for Omega’s post-match speech to be aired on television. Another major change reportedly involved a big planned moment for Hangman Adam Page in the match being dropped due to timing constraints issues.

Barrasso reported that all of AEW’s other big plans for the match went down as originally planned.

In regards to Omega’s post-match speech, this also included a handshake moment between the BCC and Golden Elite, which Claudio Castagnoli stated in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated was something that should have been aired on television.
