Impact Reportedly to Make Major International Announcement on Thursday

Impact Wrestling reportedly will be making a major announcement on Thursday morning, according to PWInsider.

Mike Johnson reported that his sources within Impact stated that this will be a “major international announcement” and will take place on Thursday morning.

Johnson reported that details regarding this upcoming announcement are currently not known.


Saya Kamitani Suffered Elbow Injury, Pulled from Stardom’s 5Star Grand Prix Tournament

Stardom recently announced that Saya Kamitani suffered a dislocated elbow and ligament damage injury during her match against Tam Nakano at this past Sunday’s 5Star Grand Prix 2023 tournament event in Tokyo, Japan.

It was announced that due to her injury, they have pulled Kamitani from the remainder of their on-going 5Star Grand Prix 2023 tournament and also from their upcoming Dream Tag Festival 2023 event. It was also announced that a timetable for Kamitani’s potential return is currently not known.

Kamitani suffered the injury following her performing an elbow drop spot off of a lighting tower and was unable to continue the match.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that former WCW wrestler Buff Bagwell, real name Marcus Bagwell, was arrested on July 13th in Cobb County, Georgia and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Speeding, based on recent Cobb County police records. Johnson reported that both charges are misdemeanors and Bagwell was released from jail that same day. Bagwell recently issued an official statement on Twitter clarifying the circumstances surrounding his recent arrest, Bagwell stated “Just wanted to clarify to everyone that I am 11 months sober (tomorrow). I see there is news out that I had to spend time in jail for a DUI but this was from the original offense years ago. I did get a recent sanction because I didn’t document a recent trip out of state properly.

Variety reported that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently donated a seven figure amount to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that financially assists union members in time of need. It was also reported that Johnson’s donation could help up to around 7,000 union members during the ongoing Hollywood writers and actors strike.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan stated that he got engaged to his girlfriend Sky Daily at a restaurant last week in Tampa, Florida.

Lio Rush suffered a shoulder-related injury at this past Saturday’s Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup XXII event for MCW Pro Wrestling in Joppa, Maryland. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources confirmed that Rush’s injury was legitimate and not something done for storyline reasons.

Game Changer Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding two events on September 22-23 in Oberhausen, Germany. It was also announced that Nick Gage will be making an appearance for the company at these upcoming events.

Starrcast recently announced that NBA Hall of Famer and former WCW wrestler Dennis Rodman will be making an appearance for the company at their Starrcast VI convention on September 1-3 in Chicago, Illinois.

DDT Pro Wrestling recently announced that Tetsuya Endo suffered a fractured left hand injury and Toru Owashi suffered a cervical vertebrae injury at this past Sunday’s Wrestle Peter Pan 2023 event in Tokyo, Japan.
