Damian Priest & IYO Sky Wins Men’s & Women’s Money in the Bank Matches

Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank 2023 event at The O2 in London, England featured a Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder matches.

In regards to the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, the finish to this match involved LA Knight and Damian Priest being the last two standing in the ring. While Knight thought he had gotten rid of everyone and climbed up the ladder to grab the Men’s briefcase, he was met with a grab to the throat by Priest who had climbed up the ladder. Priest then hit a South of Heaven to Knight off the ladder taking out Knight. Priest then climbed back up the ladder and unhooked the briefcase to win the match and become this year’s Men’s Money in the Bank holder.

In regards to the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, the finish to this match involved SKY handcuffing both Bayley and Becky’s arms through the upright ladder to prevent them from climbing up. SKY then climbed over Bayley and unhooked the briefcase to become this year’s Women’s Money in the Bank holder. This was SKY’s revenge for Bayley tipping over the ladder she was on earlier in the match during her attempt at grabbing the briefcase.


New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Crowned

Saturday’s Money in the Bank 2023 event also featured a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match between Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez and champions Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey.

The finish to this match involved Baszler attacking Rousey in the middle of the ring choking her out. Baszler then left the ring leaving the door open for Morgan and Rodriguez to pin Rousey and become the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions for the second time in their careers.


Drew McIntyre & John Cena Make Surprise Returns

Saturday’s Money in the Bank 2023 event also featured Drew McIntyre and John Cena making their surprise returns to WWE.

Following Gunther retaining his Intercontinental Championship over Matt Riddle on the show, McIntyre’s music played interrupting Gunther’s post-match celebration leading to McIntyre making his surprise return. McIntyre confronted Gunther in the ring resulting in a brawl between the two and McIntyre standing tall holding the Intercontinental title.

Later in the show, John Cena made a surprise appearance and gave a promo to the crowd. During his promo, Cena besmirched WWE’s “decision makers” saying that they did not know how to feel about the U.K. crowd and being more worried about the crowd taking over the show. Cena stated that the crowd did not take over the show since they are the show. Cena also stated that the reason why he showed up was due to him wanting to try to bring a future WrestleMania event for London which resulted in a huge cheerful reaction from the crowd. Cena also stated that he wanted to let WWE know what a WrestleMania crowd would sound like in London which lead to another huge cheerful reaction from the crowd. Cena’s promo was interrupted by Grayson Waller and after some banter between the two, a brawl broke out ending with Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Waller.
