Bayley Suffers Knee Injury at House Show Event This Past Sunday

This past Sunday’s WWE SuperShow house show event in Salisbury, Maryland featured a WWE Women’s Championship match of Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka (c).

This match was cut short following Bayley suffering a knee injury that required immediate medical attention. Bayley was eventually helped to the back but she was able to walk on her own and the match resumed with Asuka pinning Flair to retain her title.

Bayley provided an update on Twitter posting a photo of her knee wrapped up in ice and stated “I’ll be alright, thanks everyone.”

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Bayley was able to leave the venue without the assistance of crutches but WWE officials will not know how serious her injury is until the swelling in her knees goes down enough for proper tests.

WWE Reportedly Had Plans for New Wyatt Family Stable in 2019

Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that a recent report about WWE had plans in 2019 for Bray Wyatt to form a new Wyatt Family was true.

It was reported that WWE officials had plans at one point for both Eric Young and Mike Bennett to be members of this new group prior to their releases in 2020. It was reported that word of this plan had reached Bennett but not Young. These plans reportedly included one idea for Bennett to portray the role of Sister Abigail. It was reported that these plans did not actually get that far prior to WWE canceling it.

Following Young’s return to WWE this past November, it was reported that WWE had pitched a similar idea to Young involving him being in a new version of the Wyatt Family alongside Wyatt and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy). These new plans reportedly were set this past January and would have began after this past April’s WrestleMania 39 but Wyatt being sidelines with an undisclosed illness caused those plans to be shelved. It was also reported that Young’s release request took place around the same time that these plans were originally meant to go into effect.

It was also reported that WWE officials also had plans for Alexa Bliss to join this new group prior to her maternity leave. Those plans were dropped when it became obvious to WWE officials that she would not be around for all of 2023.
