WWE RAW Notes: More Participants for Battle Royal, MMA Rules Stip for Baszler vs. Ronda, Updated SummerSlam Card

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Houston, Texas featured two updated matches for the card of SummerSlam 2023, which takes place on Saturday, August 5th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

The first newly updated match involved four new competitors being announced for the Slim Jim sponsored SummerSlam Battle Royal match.

During a backstage segment on the show, Tommaso Ciampa confronted Shinsuke Nakamura and after some choice words, he claimed that he would be winning the Battle Royal match at SummerSlam. Nakamura responded saying that he would be winning instead and walked away.

In another backstage segment, Chad Gable praised Maxxine for her victory over Valhalla earlier in the show and stated that himself and Otis will be among the competitors for the Battle Royal match at this Saturday’s SummerSlam 2023 event. Imperium then interrupted Alpha Academy’s celebrations leading to a 5 Minute Beat The Clock match being set up between Gable and Gunther for later in the show.

The second newly updated match involved a MMA Rules stip being announced for the Shayna Baszler vs. Ronda Rousey match.

This match stipulation was setup during a video promo package featuring Baszler and Ronda talking about their past friendship and their careers in MMA and WWE. During the video, it was revealed that their “fight” both had teased recently would be held under MMA Rules.
