As noted before, AEW CEO Tony Khan held a media scrum on Tuesday to promote this Sunday’s AEW All In event. One of the topics discussed included Khan revealing that there will be changes made to the current card of the event.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that one of the changes will involve Rey Fenix being removed from the scheduled Stadium Stampede match. Melzter reported that the reason is due to Fenix is currently trying to establish a legal residency in the United States and as a result, he has not left the country of late. Those spoken to reportedly stated that this was the reason why Fenix did not work for Lucha Libre AAA for their Triplemania XXXI: Mexico City event earlier this month.
Meltzer reported that it is currently not known when AEW officials found out that Fenix would not be able to travel to London but their original plans for the match was made under the belief that he would be available for the event.
Meltzer also reported that it is currently expected that AEW officials will write off Fenix in a storyline angle on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show to explain his absence from the Stadium Stampede match and All In event.
