Roman Reigns reportedly suffered an unknown injury at this past Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2023 event, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that Reigns suffered the injury early into his match against Jey Uso for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the event.
Meltzer reported that the exact spot nor nature nor severity of Reigns’ injury is currently known. Meltzer also reported that as of today, Reigns is still expected to make his scheduled appearance at this Friday’s SmackDown show.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources confirmed Meltzer’s report and provided several additional details regarding Reigns’ current situation.
Sapp reported that WWE officials currently do not have any plans for Reigns to miss his scheduled appearance but this is something that could always change in the future. Sapp also reported that several of those within WWE’s creative team were not told beforehand that Reigns was injured and only found out after news of it went public. Sapp also reported that as of Tuesday afternoon, WWE had not made any changes to their current creative plans for Reigns.
