Nick Aldis Suffered Back Injury & Pulls Out of Several Indies Bookings

Nick Aldis announced on Twitter that he recently suffered a back injury and as a result, he has pulled himself out of his scheduled indies bookings for this weekend in Chicago, Illinois and later this month in Puerto Rico.


Dark Side of the Ring Ratings – August 1, 2023 – Down

Tuesday’s episode of Dark Side of the Ring drew 158,000 viewers on VICE TV, down from last week’s 185,000 viewers.

It drew a 0.05 rating in the 18-49 demographic, same as last week’s rating.

This episode focused on WCW Bash at the Beach 2000.

Game Changer Wrestling recently announced that Francisco Akira will be making his official debut for the company at their Say You Will event on September 1st in Chicago, Illinois.

Premier Streaming Network recently announced that Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, former Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in WWE, will be relaunching their Oher Her Chops podcast for their service within the near future.

The National Wrestling Alliance recently announced that Allysin Kay is the first official competitor for this year’s Burke Invitational Gauntlet match at their NWA 75 event on August 26th in St. Louis, Missouri.

As noted before, former WWE wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr. was charged this past April with several criminal charges by the United States Department of Justice over his involvement in embezzling welfare funds as part of a larger welfare scandal in the State of Mississippi. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that a status conference hearing is currently scheduled to take place on August 14th before the Mississippi Southern District Court based on recent court records. Johnson reported that there was a court hearing on July 21st but details regarding it are not known due to the records being sealed from the public.

As noted before, Highspots.TV will be shutting down their Highspots Wrestling Network streaming service at the end of this month due to issues involving their service provider Pivotshare also shutting down. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the reason why both HWN and Pivotshare are shutting down is due to the fallout from Pivotshare being purchased by a new company some time ago. This new company reportedly decided recently that they would no longer support the upkeep, technological maintenance, and customer service for Pivotshare leading to Pivotshare announcing that they would be shutting down soon. Johnson reported that Pivotshare did not give any advance notice to wrestling promoters using their service and only found out after Pivotshare sent a notice to all of their subscribers.

Lucha Libre AAA talent Flamita announced on Facebook that he recently left the company. Flamita stated “Friends good start to August, I came to greet you and, above all, thank you for all the support given to me during my career. This life is of cycles and today again closes one of them as you know I was working with the company LUCHA LIBRE AAA which has always treated me in the best way and has given me great battles today I thank you infinite people for giving me the opportunity to belong to their rosters. Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre recently announced that they will be holding another Fantasticamania event this year with Revolution Pro Wrestling called RevPro x CMLL Fantasticamania UK. It was announced that this event will be taking place on September 23rd in Manchester, England.
