AEW Collision Notes: Bryan Danielson Makes Injury Return, Four New Matches Announced for All Out

Saturday’s AEW Collision show at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois featured Bryan Danielson making his surprise return from injury and four new matches officially announced for the card of this Sunday’s All Out 2023 event.

In regards to Danielson’s surprise return and the first new match, this was announced to be a No Disqualification Strap match of Ricky Starks vs. Bryan Danielson.

During an in-ring interview segment with Tony Schiavone, Starks gave a fiery promo and called out wrestling legend Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat to answer his challenge for a No Disqualification Strap match at AEW All Out 2023. Steamboat came out and stated that he got AEW legal to write up an official contract for their match which he revealed to everyone in the crowd and at home stated “Ricky Starks vs. The Dragon.” Following Starks signing his name on the contract, Steamboat stated that while his wrestling name is “Ricky The Dragon Steamboat”, there is also another Dragon in wrestling who he got to compete in the match instead of him. This led to Danielson’s theme playing and him making his surprise appearance. Danielson then got into the ring and signed the contract to make the match official for All Out.

In regards to the second new match, this was announced to be a AEW World Trios Championship match of Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, & Satnam Singh vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) & “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn (c).

This match was setup following an in-ring segment involving Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman and Jeff & Karen Jarrett, Dutt, & Singh. Following some banter between Jarrett and Rodman over Jarrett growing upset over Rodman not giving him an answer on if he wants to join his group and Rodman’s series of insults directed towards his group, Jarrett’s group attempted to attack Rodman. This led to the Acclaimed and Gunn running out to save Rodman and issued a match challenge to Jarrett’s group for a Trios titles match at All Out with Rodman in their corner. This was made official and announced for the Zero Hour pre-show later in tonight show during the card rundown read for All Out.

In regards to the remaining two new matches, these were announced to be for the Zero Hour pre-show. These are an Over Budget Charity Battle Royal match with $50,000 being donated as a gift to a charity of the winner’s choice and a Women’s Trios match of Athena, Mercedes Martinez, & Diamante vs. Hikaru Shida, Willow Nightingale, & Skye Blue.
