UPDATE:
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources within AEW stated that Cargill’s contract is currently believed to be expiring as early as the end of this week.
Those same sources reportedly also confirmed Fightful’s report and stated that Cargill is currently believed to be heading to WWE for their NXT developmental system.
Johnson reported that Cargill is currently not scheduled for any other appearances in AEW following Wednesday’s Rampage tapings for this Friday’s show.
As noted before, Jade Cargill made her return to AEW at this past Saturday’s AEW Collision show in Cleveland, Ohio. This was Cargill’s first appearance in AEW since this past May’s Double or Nothing 2023 event due to her being on a break from wrestling.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources within both AEW and WWE stated that Cargill is currently believed to be leaving AEW and heading to WWE next.
In a follow-up report, Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that this was the reason for Cargill’s recent return so that she could finish up her commitments with AEW. Sapp reported that it is currently not known if WWE has made an official contract offer for her but this situation is something that could quickly change.
In regards to Cargill’s AEW contract, Sapp reported that it is currently not known how much time Cargill has left on her current deal. Sapp also reported that while Cargill’s contract does include terms for option years, it is currently not known if it is AEW or Cargill that holds those options.
