Gunther Breaks All-Time Record for Longest Ever Intercontinental Title Reign

As noted before, this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Charlotte, North Carolina featured Gunther successfully defending his Intercontinental Championship to pave the way for him to break the all-time record for longest ever title reign in WWE history.

WWE announced that Gunther had officially broken the record on Thursday with his recognized title reign of 454 days and surpassing The Honky Tonk Man’s title reign of 453 days.

Following his record setting achievement, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque congratulated Gunther on Twitter for his new all-time WWE record.

Gunther broke the unofficial record on Friday with 455 days as champion and surpassing Honky Tonk Man’s unofficial record of 454 days that WWE does not recognize the extra date for the previous all-time longest Intercontinental Championship record.


Zoey Stark Reportedly Getting High Praise Backstage in WWE

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Zoey Stark has been reciving high praise from both WWE officials and alent since her call up to the main roster this past April.

It was reported that Stark has been recieving great reviews from talent she has worked with on the main roster and also praise from WWE officials over how she’s handled her call-up and the duties associated with it.

Stark reportedly also was praised by WWE officials for her resilience in returning from her knee injury and not missing a step in the ring. Stark’s good reviews from her main roster tryout matches during Main Event tapings reportedly played a key role in WWE officials selecting her to be among the NXT representation for Women’s Royal Rumble match at this past January’s Royal Rumble 2023 event. This reportedly led to WWE officials slating her for a call-up and had informed NXT officials to wrap up her run in their brand.

This past Tuesday’s NXT show featured a show closing angle of Bron Breakker attacking Von Wagner with steel steps. The video feed to the show was cut right before Breakker slammed the steps right onto Wanger’s head but the audio of the attack and the reaction from NXT commentator Vic Joseph could still be heard. Haus of Wrestling’s Nick Hausman reported that his sources stated that reports of Wagner suffering a legitimate head injury was not true. Those spoken to stated that the spot had gone down as WWE officials had planned and Wagner is feeling “totally fine.” The origin of the rumor was based on a report from BodySlam.net who claimed that NXT officials had been fearful of Wagner’s life over Breakker hitting Wagner’s head for real.

The Dudley Boyz reportedly recently signed Legends contracts with WWE, according to Sports Illustrated.

Booker T recently announced that NXT talents Charlie Dempsey and Axiom will be making an appearance for his Reality of Wrestling promotion at their The Next Chapter event on September 23rd in Texas City, Texas. Booker T also announced that Dempsey and Axiom will be competing against each other in a NXT Showcase match at the event.

WWE recently announced twenty-six new RAW, SmackDown, and house show events for their live events schedule for this November and December.

Becky Lynch recently announced that she was unable to travel to India for WWE’s Superstar Spectacle 2023 event today in Hyderabad due to a slightly torn passport issue.
