WWE RAW Notes: Erik Not Medically Cleared, Dragon Lee Set for Next Week’s Show, Seth Rollins Issues World Title Match Challenge

Erik Pulled from Monday’s RAW Show Over Not Being Medically Cleared to Compete

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Salt Lake City, Utah was originally advertised to featured a Best 2-out-of-3 Falls match between New Day and The Viking Raiders.

During the show, WWE official Adam Pearce announced to New Day in a backstage office segment that this tag team match was pulled due to Erik not being medically cleared to compete on the show. No other details were given regarding the nature of Erik’s medical status.

Pearce then told New Day that their match would now be a singles match between Ivar and one of New Day, which Kofi Kingston won in a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors.


Dragon Lee Making Official WWE Main Roster Debut at Sept. 25th RAW Show

Monday’s RAW show in Salt Lake City also featured the official announcement of NXT talent Dragon Lee making his official main roster debut at next week’s RAW show in Ontario, California.

Prior to the start of Dominik Mysterio’s match with Cody Rhodes, Lee was shown sitting in the front row in the crowd and WWE announcer Michael Cole stating that Lee will be making his official main roster debut at the September 25th RAW show in Ontario. Cole also announced that Lee will be competing against Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at this show.

Later in the show, WWE official Adam Pearce and Lee were involved in a backstage office segment that was quickly interrupted by Mysterio who barged in complaining about his loss to Rhodes earlier and not having his “Mami” (Rhea Ripley) around because of Nia Jax’s attack last week. Mysterio then badmouthed Lee saying that he does not like people who wear masks leading to Lee responding claiming that he will beat Mysterio for his North American title next week.


Seth Rollins Issues Challenge to Shinsuke Nakamura to Name Place & Stip for World Title Rematch

Monday’s RAW show in Salt Lake City also featured Seth Rollins issuing a match challenge to Shinsuke Nakamura for a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.

This match challenge was initially setup following Rollins trying to engage in a brawl with Nakamura both prior and after Nakamura’s match with Ricochet. While Rollins’ first attempt was blocked by WWE officials and security who separated the two, his second attempt resulted in Nakamura getting the upper hand after Rollins got hit with a chair and him taunting Rollins on his way to the back.

Later in the show, Rollins was interviewed backstage and gave an angry promo stating how he has been trying to keep it together but is losing his mind over Nakamura’s actions. Rollins stated that he would do anything to get Nakamura back in the ring with him and would event let Nakamura name the time, place, and even the stipulation for this rematch for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
