Mark Briscoe Makes Surprise Return from Injury at Friday’s Rampage Show

Friday’s taped Rampage show in Philadelphia featured Mark Briscoe making his surprise return from injury to AEW.

During an in-ring promo segment involving Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford, Sabian proceeded to mock Philadelphia’s sports teams for being failures when it came to trying to win championships over the past year. Sabian also mocked Philadelphia in general but before he could continue, Briscoe’s entrance theme interrupted leading to Briscoe making his surprise return to AEW. Sabian proceeded to mock Briscoe saying he has the same amount of teeth as Philadelphia Eagles have for Super Bowl victories. This led to Briscoe attacking Sabian and sending him out of the ring.

This was Briscoe’s first appearance in AEW and Ring of Honor since this past July due to a knee injury.


Abadon Wins Four-Way Match for Shot at AEW Women’s World Title at Sat. Collision Show

Friday’s taped Rampage show in Philadelphia also featured Abadon defeating Anna Jay, Skye Blue, and Willow Nightingale in a Four-way match to earn a title match for the AEW Women’s Championship at this Saturday’s AEW Collision show in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The finish to this match involved Nightingale hitting a series of clotheslines to Blue and Abadon in the corner and hit a pounce on Jay afterwards. This led to Nightingale hitting a spinebuster to Jay for the nearfall that was broken up by Blue who sent Nightingale into the ring post and out of the ring. Blue and Jay then doubleteam attacked Abadon leading to Jay putting Blue in sleeper afterwards that was broken up by Blue superkicking Jay. Nightingale yanked Blue out of the ring leading to Abadon hitting an Inverted DDT on Jay for the pinfall victory.

Later in the show, AEW commentator Excalibur announced that Abadon and Shida’s upcoming match for the AEW Women’s World title will be held as a Fright Night Fight rules match.

Kyle Fletcher Joins Don Callis Family at Friday’s Rampage Show

Friday’s taped Rampage show in Philadelphia also featured Kyle Fletcher becoming the newest member of the Don Callis Family.

Following Konosuke Takeshita’s victory over Fletcher in the main event of the show, Fletcher launched a surprise attack hitting Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs with a chair. While Fletcher was able to take out Takeshita, Hobbs shrugged off the attack and proceeded to grab and ram Fletcher into the corner. Before Hobbs was able to attack Fletcher for revenge, Don Callis stepped in and pulled Hobbs away. Callis stated that what Fletcher showed was what he had been looking for from Fletcher when he first offered him a potential a spot in his Family. Callis stated that what Fletcher did proved that he was worthy of becoming his apprentice and a member of the Callis Family.
