Various: New WCW DocuSeries Reportedly in Production, Taro Okada Named New Bushiroad Fight Boss, Stardom Vacates Two Titles

New Docuseries Based on WCW’s Demise Reportedly in Production by VICE & Seven Bucks Productions

Deadline reported that a new wrestling-based docuseries based on World Championship Wrestling is currently in production by VICE and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions.

It was reported that this new upcoming series will be focusing on the “mysterious demise of World Championship Wrestling (WCW).”

No other details were given regarding this upcoming new docuseries nor premiere date.

Seven Bucks has more than 60 film and television projects and counting in active development. Among the company’s upcoming titles are Red One, greenlit by Amazon, directed by Emmy nominee Jake Kasdan and starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, J.K. Simmons, and Lucy Liu; Kate Warne, also for Amazon, an action-packed biopic starring Emily Blunt as the first female Pinkerton agent; Moana, a live-action remake of the animated feature, directed by Thomas Kail from a script by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller; new installments in the Fast and Furious and Jumanji franchises; and, in partnership with Vice Studios, a docuseries investigating the mysterious demise of World Championship Wrestling (WCW), once the biggest wrestling company in America.


Bushiroad Announced Taro Okada as New President & Representative Director of Bushiroad Fight

Stardom’s parent company Bushiroad recently announced that they have made a change in the upper management of Bushiroad Fight, which handles Stardom.

It was announced that Bushiroad Fight President Katsuhiko Harada will be retiring and will be replaced by Taro Okada as the new President and Representative Director starting on December 1st.

Stardom Announces Two Titles Vacated Due to Injuries

Stardom held a press conference on Monday in Japan to promote their upcoming Nagoya Big Winter 2023 event on December 2nd.

During the press conference, it was announced that Tam Nakano has vacated her World of Stardom Championship due to her not being able to return in time from her knee injury to defend her title at their upcoming event.

It was also announced that Natsupoi has vacated her Goddess of Stardom Championship due to her also not being able to return in time from her undisclosed injury to defend her title at their upcoming event.

In regards to the World of Stardom Championship, it was announced that a new champion will be crowned at their Dream Queendom 2023 event on December 29th in Tokyo, Japan. It was also announced that Suzu Suzuki will be putting her title shot on the line against Hazuki at their upcoming Nagoya Big Winter 2023 event and the winner of that match will face off against the winner of a four-women tournament to crown a new champion. This upcoming tournament was stated to feature Ami Sohrei, Maika, Mina Shirakawa, and Momo Watanabe.
