The first match was a Gold League group Finals Triple Threat match featuring Jon Moxley defeating Swerve Strickland and Jay White.

The finish to this match involved White grabbing a steel chair and attacking Moxley and Strickland. White then place the chair in between the ropes in the corner despite the objections from the referee. Moxley then showed up from behind and locked in a rear naked choke that Strickland was able to escape from with a roll-up for a near fall. Moxley and Strickland exchanged a series of strikes leading to Strickland hitting a couple of boot strikes and a discus lariat to Moxley. After some more action between Moxley and Strickland, Strickland went to the top rope for a Swerve Stomp attempt only to be shoved off the top rope and crashing onto the floor. White then attempted a Bladerunner to Moxley who escaped the hold and countered it with a Death Rider for the pinfall victory to advance to the Finals of the Continental Classic tournament.

The second match was a Blue League group Finals match featuring Eddie Kingston defeating Bryan Danielson.

The finish to this match involved Kingston attempting to hit a powerbomb to Danielson only for Danielson to counter it with a hurricanrana roll-up for a near fall. Danielson then hit a Busaiku Knee to Kingston for another near fall. Danielson then hit a series of hammer and elbow strikes to Kingston and followed it with a series of stomps to Kingston’s head. This led to the ref checking on Kingston who responded by flipping off the middle finger to Danielson. Four New Matches Announced for AEW Worlds End

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured four new matches and one updated match for the card of AEW’s Worlds End event, which takes place this Saturday in Long Island, New York.

In regards to the new matches, the first new match announced was a singles match of Andrade El Idolo vs. Miro.

This match was setup following a video package segment recapping Miro’s lingering issues with his wife CJ Perry pursuing a job as a manager for other men despite his objections and her working with Andrade as his manager. Following the video, it was announced that this match was made official for the show.

The second new match announced was a singles match of Swerve Strickland vs. Keith Lee.

This match was initially setup over the past several weeks involving Lee talking about him coming after a mysterious person referred to as “Him” who Lee Lee eventually revealed to be Strickland. During tonight’s show, Tony Schiavone held a backstage interview with Strickland and Prince Nana asking for Strickland’s thoughts about his loss in the Gold League Finals to Jon Moxley. After talking about how much losing hurt and why he meant what he said over his recent comments about the Continental Classic being the shot in the arm wrestling has needed, Strickland turned his attention to Lee’s recent comments towards him. Strickland stated that since he has nothing to do now for this weekend, he might as well settle his issues with Lee once and for all and issued a challenge for a match at Worlds End. Schiavone responded stating that Lee had a contract already made and ready for this match. Later in the show, it was announced that this match was made official for the show.

The third new match announced is a 20-Man Battle Royale match.

This match was announced during AEW commentator’s Excalibur’s card rundown read for AEW World’s End. This match was also stated to be taking place during the Zero Hour Pre-show.

The fourth new match announced is an Eight-Man Tag Team match of Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, & Sting vs. Big Bill, Ricky Starks, & Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs).

This match was setup following an in-ring segment involving the Don Callis Family and Sammy Guevara. After Don Callis revealed all of the custom paintings he got as gifts for Fletcher, Hobbs, and Konosuke Takeshita, there was one painting left that was covered up. Before anything else could happen, Sammy Guevara interrupted and made his surprise return from injury and paternity leave and reunited with the Don Callis Family. Callis stated that it was good that Guevara came since he had a painting gift for Guevara as well, which was revealed to be a painting of everyone in the Callis Family and Guevara holding his baby as part of their family. Guevara quickly took offense to his baby being included without his permission which led to Callis badmouthing Guevara as a new father and warning that he had to choose between which family he wanted to be with. This led to Guevara rushing at Callis resulting in the rest of the Don Callis Family attacking Guevara in return. Jericho ran out with a bat to save Guevara leading to a big brawl breaking out that was joined in by Starks and Big Bill who attacked Jericho and Guevara. This led to the lights going off and when they came back on, Sting and Darby Allin were in the ring and brawled with Starks and Bill sending both out of the ring. MJF told the referee that he was not going to call off the match and would take on the AEW Devil’s team all on his own. Near the end of the match, a third mystery masked person emerged from under the ring and attacked MJF with a pipe while the referee was not looking. This led to the MJF being tossed back into the ring and hit with a Heat Seeker by the legal masked mystery man for the pinfall victory to become the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Following the match, more masked minions showed and started attacking MJF which led to Joe running out with a chair to save MJF and clear the ring of the masked minions.
