Various: Matt Riddle on Wrestling Career Future, X-Division Title Match Announced for TNA Hard To Kill 2024, Afa Health Update

Matt Riddle Comments on Future of His Wrestling Career

As noted before, Matt Riddle was released by WWE this past September. Riddle’s release is believed to have been due to his incident at the JFK Airport this past September being the final straw for WWE officials over his backstage and out-of-the ring issues in the company.

MuscleManMalcolm held a recent interview with Riddle. One of the topics discussed included Riddle’s thoughts about his current plans for the future of his wrestling career.

“I would say to keep wrestling. I’m really good at it. Keep doing that. Doing some things that I haven’t done before. I’ve never wrestled in Japan, so that’s on the bucket list in 2024, amongst other things.”

Riddle also gave his thoughts on who he is currently interested in competing against for matches in the future.

“Kenny [Omega] is hurt now. I saw that, indefinitely. That was sad. I really wanted to wrestle him. With my release, that could have been an opportunity, but now it’s not. There are tons of opponents out there.”

It was also announced that Anoa’i currently is scheduled to undergo a follow-up appointment on December 20th for another medical checkup for his heart.

“Yesterday Afa had two exploratory heart procedures to check his valves. In his own words: “I kicked out before the 1!” He is home and doing very well. Nothing keeps a Wild Samoan down! His follow up appointment is on the 20th to go over next steps. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he may need a valve replacement. But he’s up and at it, working hard on the WXW Seminar on January 13th and the first show of the year, February 17th, with proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

Afa was joking with and signing autographs for the hospital staff.”
