Skye Blue Comments on Being “Super Excited” Over Her Recent Heel Turn in AEW

A recent episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast featured Skye Blue as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Blue’s thoughts about her recent heel turn in AEW and pairing with Julia Hart.

“I did not expect it at all. Me and Willow [Willow Nightingale] were talking about wanting to tag, being a tag team, and trying to make a tag division because there are not a lot of women’s tags here yet. ‘Oh, we can do that.’ They presented the idea, ‘You’re going to get misted.’ ‘Does that mean I get to be spooky?’ ‘Yeah, have you ever been a heel?’ ‘No.’ I had always wanted to be a heel on the indies. When they said, ‘eventually,’ I was so excited. There would be days where you would not know, ‘maybe, maybe not.’ ‘Please, I want to challenge myself, I want to learn how to be a heel.’ I want to learn every aspect of wrestling and do as much of it as I can. I was super excited. I feel me and Julia can be a really cool tag team. The blonde brunette duo and we’re both super young.”

FTR Comments on Their Focus on Building Up Young Tag Teams, AEW Collision, & AEW as a Whole

WAVY-TV 10 held a recent interview with FTR. One of the topics discussed included FTR’s thoughts about their current focus on wanting to help build up young tag teams, AEW Collision, and AEW as a whole.

Dax Harwood – “Of course our goal is to continue being the greatest tag team of all time, but there comes a time when your body physically, you start to break down a bit. I don’t want to say we’re breaking down, but there’s going to come a time where we cannot perform at the level we are now. So I think, for me at least, our goal is to continue to help build AEW, to continue to help build with the young guys that we have as the base of AEW and continue to push that youth movement that we need to carry our legacy. We could sit here and take over all the airwaves, all of the TV time, and all of the tag team matches and championships, we could, but in five, six, seven, ten years, we’re going to be gone, and who’s gonna take over? So that’s our goal, that’s my goal now is to continue to help build that future of AEW, continue to help make it competition for WWE, but all the while, of course I’d like to make a whole bunch of money and win some championships.”

Cash Wheeler – “Yeah, Dax pretty much answered it exactly how I was going to. Cause I feel like for us, we’re kind of in a weird stage of our careers where we still have time left and there’s still things we want to do, but we’ve accomplished, like you said, as much as we could have ever hoped. As far as the things I had on my career bucket list, we’ve far surpassed that at this point. I still want to do those things for us, but I want to focus on helping the next generation of young tag teams. I really want to focus on building up Collision, I want to focus on building up AEW as a whole. Anything we can do to help bring eyes to Saturday Nights, I want to do. Anything we can do to help bring eyes to AEW, I want to do but I’d like to be ten star FTR somehow, whatever that would end up being because there is still the TNA Tag Titles we’ve never won, maybe a few others. I wouldn’t mind doing a world tag league also, just one. We didn’t get a chance to when we were the [IWGP] tag champions because schedules didn’t match up and if we had [done it], we would have never had that Dog Collar match, so things worked out as they should. It’s a weird place right now because we both want to help the company and the next generation of tag teams, but we still want to be the greatest tag team in the world.”

AEW CEO Tony Khan was recently involved in an online incident earlier this week following comments he made on Twitter taking shots at USA Network over a recent tweet by them mocking him using Cagematch for his booking philosophy and WWE’s booking giving Jinder Mahal a shot at the WWE World title despite him doing nothing to actually earn it over the past year. This quickly devolved into others joining in on both sides and shifted into Khan and Eric Bischoff getting into a lengthy insults-filled back-and-forth online argument that dragged in Abadon and her receiving body-shamming insults from others. Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Khan’s recent tweets was something that was talked about backstage by some people at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show but it was not a topic of heavy conversation. It was reported that this was a much bigger topic within AEW the day before when the incident blew up on social media.

In a recent interview with Gamespot, Will Ospreay confirmed that he did receive an offer from WWE for a potential contract with them but the trust he has in AEW CEO Tony Khan was the reason why he decided to sign with AEW instead. Ospreay also stated that Khan respects him and gives him the time he wants for his matches. Ospreay stated “I want to know what I’m doing within the ring, and the rest, for me, is easy. What more could you want from a boss?

I will be able to show more dramatics in the future.

Matt Hardy recently reflected on Twitter about the Young Bucks’ return to AEW at this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show. Hardy statedIt was so fantastic to see the Young Bucks return to #AEWDynamite. They’re the greatest tag team of this generation & The Tag Team GOATs acknowledge that. Proud of them for stepping up & calling out The Stinger. Just so you know – Without us, the #LivingLegends, there would be no Bucks of Youth. The Jackson brothers are one of the few teams that Jeff & I actually respect. Sweet ass mustaches btw..

In a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Orange Cassidy gave his thoughts about the leadership Jon Moxley has provided in AEW. Cassidy stated “Jon Moxley is a leader for AEW. I think a lot of people look to Jon Moxley for leadership. I am too, like Jon Moxley, a person that leads by example and I saw the example that he was setting and I was like, ‘You know what? I want to do that.’ I tried, but no one can be Jon Moxley because there’s no Jon Moxley. I am forever in his debt for him changing and bringing up this version of me that is clearly a better version because I still have this thing (the AEW International Championship belt).” (Transcript h/t: WrestlingNews.co)

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Samoa Joe gave his thoughts about who he is the most interested in facing as potential challengers for his AEW World Championship. Joe stated “Kenny Omega, when he’s healthy, and Will Ospreay. Swerve Strickland and Hangman, they’re both waiting for me. The matchups we can do are infinite. The possibilities going into this year are wide and varied, and it’s going to be very fun.” Joe also gave his thoughts about a potential match with NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada in the future. Joe stated “That’s another first-time, fresh matchup you won’t see anywhere else. He can come get it, too. That’s for anyone. If someone feels like they want it, then show up–and we’ll see what you’ve got. But if you come up lame, I will laugh in your face.
