As noted before, Kazuchika Okada will be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling after his contract expires at the end of this January.
Fightful Select reported that their sources denied recent rumors and reports about Okada has already made his decision and will be heading to WWE for their NXT brand at first. This rumor originated from a recent report from Monthly Puroresu about Okada likely will be signing a deal with WWE.
It was reported that those spoken to close to NJPW stated that this is not the current situation that they are aware of and Okada is still early in his decision making process for the future of his wrestling career.
One high level WWE officials spoken to reportedly stated “that would be news to us at this point” while multiple sources within NXT stated that they have heard nothing of the sort at the moment regarding WWE signing Okada nor plans for him working in their brand.
It was reported that many spoken to within AEW reportedly stated that they still believe that they are very much in the running to get Okada.
