Seth Rollins Knee Injury Update – Rollins Suffered Torn MCL & Partially Torn Meniscus [Update]

Update:

WrestleVotes reported that their sources stated that WWE officials current plans are for Seth Rollins to address his health and WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation at this Monday’s RAW show.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Rollins is currently not advertised for any WWE events through mid-February. In regards to a potential return from his torn meniscus injury, Johnson reported that Rollins could be out of action for as little as 3-4 weeks if he underwent surgery and had a speedy recovery but 4-6 weeks is usually the more likely recovery situation for him. Johnson also reported that Rollins should be okay to perform at this April’s WrestleMania 40 event but other major events before that could be questionable for him.

As noted before, Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The severity and exact nature of Rollins injury was not known at the time.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Rollins had told others backstage after his match that he did not think he had suffered an ACL tear. One high level WWE official spoken to reportedly stated “considering he’s powerbombed a 300 pound man on a torn ACL, we think he understands what that might feel like.”

Despite Rollins belief at the time, it was reported that those spoken to close to Rollins and others within WWE stated that he had suffered a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus injuries. It was also reported that it is currently not known if Rollins will need to undergo surgery but Rollins is currently hopeful that he will be able to avoid it.

It was also reported that it is currently not known how WWE will address Rollins injury situation on television in regards to if his injury will be downplayed or embellished for storyline reasons.

It was also reported that Rollins has had a history of knee-related problems and has worked through many of them in the past. Several of those spoken to within WWE praised Rollins’ toughness and resolve he showed throughout his match against Jinder Mahal and the immediate aftermath.

Rollins previously suffered a MCL injury in 2017 only a few months prior to WrestleMania 33 but was able to work at the event but the combination of a MCL and meniscus injuries currently puts his status for WrestleMania 40 in potential serious doubt.
