As noted before, Mercedes Mone contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom expired at some point last year. Mone’s talks with WWE for a potential return were dropped last month due to monetary-related issues and recently resumed talks with AEW for a potential deal.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in Sunday’s Daily Update that his sources stated that AEW officials currently expect Mone to make her official AEW television debut soon. Meltzer reported that it is not known as of Sunday if Mone has actually signed a deal with AEW.
Meltzer speculated that it is possible that instead of advertising Mone’s debut ahead of time, AEW could have it be a surprise instead for this Wednesday’s Dynamite Homecoming 2024 show at Daily’s Place since the same was done for Sting’s AEW debut in the same venue.
