AEW & Mercedes Mone Reportedly in Talks Again for Potential Deal

As noted before, Mercedes Mone contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom is currently believed to have expired for some time. AEW’s is believed to not have any active plans for a potential signing due to monetary-related issues while Mone’s talks with WWE for a potential were recently dropped due to similar issues.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Mone is currently in talks again with AEW for a potential contract. It was reported that Mone’s previous talks with AEW CEO Tony Khan had fallen through but this ended up only being temporary until very recently.

It was also reported that Mone had stopped all of her talks with WWE for a potential return towards the end of 2023.

Several industry sources spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that they currently expect Mone to sign with AEW.


Backstage Reaction Over MJF Being Removed from AEW Roster Page

As noted before, MJF is currently expected to be taking a break from AEW to heal up his injuries following this past Saturday’s Worlds End event.

MJF’s profile was removed from AEW’s roster page on their official website some time after midnight on Monday.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that none of those spoken to within AEW currently believe that MJF is actually gone from the company. Instead the general belief from those spoken to reportedly is just this being MJF’s “bidding war of 2024” storyline playing out that he has been referencing on AEW programming for a long while.


Tony Khan Reflects on AEW’s 5th Year Anniversary

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently reflected on Twitter about Monday being the fifth year anniversary of the launch of AEW. Khan thanked everyone who helped make AEW and the success they had in 2023 be possible.
