Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker Advances to Finals of 2024 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament

Tuesday’s NXT show featured one Semifinal Round match for this year’s Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.

This tournament match was Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker defeating Nathan Frazer & Axiom.

The finish to this match involved Breakker putting Axiom on the top turnbuckle resulting in Axiom fighting back with forearms and kicks. Axiom then leaped over Breakker who responded with a clothesline in return. Breakker then hit a forearm strike to Frazer knocking him off the apron. Breakker then went up to the top rope and attempted a bulldog only for Axiom to counter it with a kick. Axiom tagged in Frazer who hit a Spanish Fly to Breakker and followed it with a Phoenix Splash for a near fall that was broken up by Corbin. Corbin then hit an End of Days to Axiom. Frazer hit a super kick to Corbin leading to Breakker hitting a spear to Frazer in return for the pinfall victory to advance to the Finals of this year’s Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.

Corbin & Breakker will be facing off against the winner of the Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams vs. LWO match for the Finals of this year’s tournament at NXT Vengeance Day 2024 on February 4th in Clarksville, Tennessee.

William Regal Makes Surprise NXT Return & Ava Named New NXT GM

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured William Regal making his surprise on-screen return to WWE’s NXT brand and Ava being name NXT’s new General Manager of NXT.

In a backstage segment on the show, Ava was seen walking out of Shawn Michaels office. Ava was quickly followed out by Regal making his surprise return to WWE’s NXT brand. Ava gave her thanks to Regal for being there with her for the meeting. Regal responded back congratulating her on becoming NXT’s new General Manager and the youngest one in NXT history. Regal then gave some words of advice to Ava for her new job and stated that if she needs anything, his phone is always on.

This was Regal’s first on-screen appearance in WWE since 2021.

One Match Confirmed and One New Match Announced for NXT Vengeance Day 2024

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured one match confirmed and one new match for the card of WWE’s NXT Vengeance Day 2024 event, which takes place on February 4th at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee.

In regards to the confirmed match, this was announced to be the NXT North American Championship match of Dragon Lee vs. Oba Femi (c).

This match was initially setup during last week’s show following Lee asking for a title shot and being rejected by Femi at first. This led to Lee stating he was invoking his automatic title rematch clause due to his status as the former North American Champion which led to Femi responding that he makes the decisions now but would consider it.

Following Lee’s victory over Scrypts during tonight’s show, Femi interrupted Lee’s celebration and stated that he has granted Lee’s request for a title match at NXT Vengeance Day 2024.

In regards to the new match, this was announced to be a Six-Person Mixed tag team match of The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Stacks, & Adriana Rizzo) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) & Jaida Parker.

This match was initially setup in recent weeks shows with OTM earning a NXT Tag Team title shot and calling out the Family. During tonight’s show, OTM and Parker attacked Rizzo at a restaurant leading to The Family getting payback and attacking them in return during Scrypts match against Dragon Lee.
