Update on Potential Host City for WrestleMania 41

As noted before, WWE is currently considering Las Vegas to be the potential host city of next year WrestleMania 41 event. Besides Las Vegas, the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota has also been interested in potentially hosting the event with the Minnesota Sports & Events submitting an official bid this past March.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Las Vegas is the current frontrunner to host next year’s WrestleMania 41 event.

Meltzer reported that WWE officials have not locked in their decision yet but Las Vegas being the potential host has been talked about. Meltzer reported that the reason for the delayed announcement by WWE for the host of next year’s event is due to them still working out a deal with Las Vegas city officials.

Dominik Mysterio Elbow Injury Update

As noted before, this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Columbus, Ohio featured Dominik Mysterio wearing a sling on his arm for his appearance on the show.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Mysterio had suffered an elbow injury. Meltzer reported that Mysterio suffered the injury during his match against Andrade at the April 15th WWE RAW show. Those spoken to reportedly described the injury as a freak accident.

Meltzer reported that Mysterio would be undergoing Tommy John surgery which would keep him out of action for at least nine months and possibly slightly shorter.

Meltzer also reported that WWE officials current plans are to keep Mysterio as an on-screen character while he recovers from his injury.

Following Meltzer’s report, Mysterio provided an update on Twitter denying the portion of Meltzer’s report stating that he would be undergoing surgery. Mysterio stated “No surgery for this guy.”

Jesse Ventura Comments on Him & WWE are “Talking Again”

A recent episode of The Vanguard podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ventura revealing that he has been in recent talks with WWE again now that the company is in a new direction with Vince McMahon no longer involved.

“I will tell you this, now that wrestling has chosen this new direction, shall we call it. Jesse Ventura is in talks with them. It required them going in this new direction. I hope you get what I’m saying about the new direction. The direction the company is now going was good enough for Jesse Ventura and the WWE to begin talking again.”
