Konosuke Takeshita vs. Will Ospreay Announced for AEW Revolution 2024

Wednesday’s Dynamite show featured one new official match announced for the card of AEW Revolution, which takes place on March 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This new match announced was a singles match of Konosuke Takeshita vs. Will Ospreay.

This match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving the Don Callis Family’s Takeshita, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Don Callis. Callis boasted about Takeshita making Chris Jericho tap out last week and how great his Family is. Callis stated that they are a victim of their own success as no one wants to face them and the Alpha is in need of competition for Revolution 2024. Callis stated that to get the best match possible for the Alpha, they need to look within the Family and revealed that he setup a match between Takeshita and Will Ospreay for the event. Callis claimed that after Revolution, fans will not be talking about Sting’s retirement and instead they will be talking about the Match of the Decade between two Don Callis Family members. Callis also stated that this will be great since the Family wins either way and they will still be a family after.

Young Bucks vs. Sting & Darby Allin for AEW Tag Titles Set for Revolution 2024

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured the official announcement of The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) vs. Sting & Darby Allin for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Revolution 2024.

This match was initially setup in recent weeks following The Young Bucks getting involved in Sting and Allin’s business and attacking both of them following their AEW Tag titles win at last week’s Dynamite show.

Following the Young Bucks’ victory over Top Flight during tonight’s show, AEW interviewer Tony Schiavone went into the ring for a post-match interview. Matthew sarcastically praised Top Flight for the match they had calling them a tough team to defeat while leaving out the fact that they only won because they cheated. Matthew also claimed that due to their high profile AEW Rankings win, that should be the new top contender for the AEW Tag titles, which led to a graphic of the Young Bucks and then text of them as the new #1 Contender;s being displayed on the big screen. The Young Bucks then turned their attention to Schiavone and stated that they took offense to what he has been saying about them recently. Nicholas stated that was a breach of contract and fining him $1000 before shoving him to the canvas. Matthew stated that he apologizes for what his brother did since he get a hot head at times and offered his hand to Schiavone. Nicholas then grabbed Schiavone’s other hand teasing a EVP Trigger only to be interrupted by Allin’s music and Allin running out to the ring to save Schiavone leading to the Young Bucks getting out before Allin arrived.

Allin grabbed a microphone and called out the Young Bucks over how the mission statement of AEW from the beginning was to change the world but instead he has seen them back away from that statement and caring more about signing their friends to the company. After some more words, Allin stated that this is all about Sting’s final match and announced that Sting and himself will be defending their AEW World Tag Team titles against the Young Bucks at Revolution. This match was made official afterwards.
