More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for February 7th

The February 7th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a slight increase in key demographic ratings and key demographic rankings but suffered a small decline in overall viewership.

AEW drew 805,000 viewers and a 0.28 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 3rd place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s mixed results this week was due to a much weaker than usual lead-in programming viewership from the Big Bang Theory, which drew 894,000 viewers and a 0.17 key demographic rating, and small declines from their older male key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 3.7% and 18.5% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly mostly offset the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 40.4% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that this week’s show had the rare occasion where AEW’s final quarter hour and overrun had a higher key demographic viewership than their first quarter hour.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Golden State Warriors vs. Philadelphia 76ers drew 1,163,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Alabama vs. Auburn drew 471,000 viewers on ESPN2, the College basketball game of Texas A&M vs. Missouri drew 292,000 viewers on ESPN2, the NHL game of Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Rangers drew 413,000 viewers on TNT, the NHL game of Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks drew 271,000 viewers on TNT, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 1,042,000 viewers on BRAVO, Sistas Series drew 892,000 viewers on BET, and Challenge New Champion drew 464,000 viewers on MTV.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 366,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 95,000 viewers (up 21.8%), Females 18-34 was 64,000 viewers (up 77.8%), Males 35-49 was 155,000 viewers (down 3.7%), and Females 35-49 was 53,000 viewers (down 18.5%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 250,000 male viewers and 117,000 female viewers for a split of 68.5% in favor of males.

In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 878,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 723,000 viewers for their seventh quarter.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 10.5% in overall viewership and down 5.7% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 5.3% compared to the same week last year.

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for February 2nd

The February 2nd episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a very large decline in overall viewership, a large decline in key demographic rankings, and a small decline in key demographic ratings.

AEW drew 318,000 viewers and a 0.10 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 24th place

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s declines that week was due to the large declines from their younger male key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups, which were down 36.2% and 43.4% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. This offset the gains from their younger female key demographic viewership group, which was up 88.9% compared to the prior week’s show.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzles drew 384,000 viewers on NBA TV, the College basketball game of Creighton vs. Butler drew 484,000 viewers on FS1, Love After Lockup drew 387,000 viewers on WETV, House Hunters drew 796,000 viewers on Home and Garden TV, On Patrol Live drew 891,000 viewers on REELZ Channel, and Unbelievable with Dan A. drew 941,000 viewers on History Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 134,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 30,000 viewers (down 36.2%), Females 18-34 had 17,000 viewers (up 88.9%), Males 35-49 had 43,000 viewers (down 43.4%), and Females 35-49 had 44,000 viewers (equal). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 73,000 male viewer and 61,000 female viewers for a split of 54.5% in favor of males.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 22.7% in overall viewership and down 10.1% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 25.4% compared to the same week last year.

  • 3Q – 279,000 overall viewers and 118,000 key demo viewers (Willow Nightingale vs. Queen Aminata, the Best Friends and Undisputed Kingdom backstage segment, and the Nightingale, Kris Statlander, Stokely Hathaway, The Outcasts, and Harley Cameron backstage segment)

More on AEW Collision Viewership for February 3rd

The February 3rd episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a large increase in key demographic rating and key demographic rankings.

AEW drew 404,000 viewers and a 0.12 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 18th place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases that week was due to the combination of no WWE PLE competition that night and the very large increase from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 354.4% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the lower than usual male key demographic viewership and the very weak lead-in programming from NCIS New Orleans in regards to key demographic viewership, which only averaged around 18,000 viewers.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks drew 2,743,000 viewers on ABC, the College basketball game of Syracuse vs. Wake Forest drew 233,000 viewers on The CW, the College basketball game of Duke vs. North Carolina drew 3,199,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Tennessee vs. Kentucky drew 2,525,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Iowa State vs. Baylor drew 320,000 viewers on ESPN2, the Women’s College basketball game of Iowa vs. Maryland drew 1,578,000 viewers on FOX, the NASCAR Cup Series Clash at the Coliseum qualifying race drew 1,511,000 viewers on FS1, the Mexican Liga MX soccer game of Los Tigres vs. UNAM drew 175,000 viewers on TUDN, and On Patrol Live drew 896,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 157,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 31,000 viewers, Females 18-34 had 19,000 viewers, Males 35-49 had 60,000 viewers, and Females 35-49 had 47,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 91,000 male viewers and 66,000 female viewers for a split of 58% in favor of males.
