Anthem Reportedly Released Ed Nordholm from TNA

As noted before, TNA Wrestling President Scott D’Amore’s contract was terminated by Anthem Entertainment earlier this month and Anthony Cicione was named as TNA’s new President going forward.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that besides D’Amore, longtime TNA executive and former President Ed Nordholm was also recently released from the company.

Meltzer reported that Nordholm had been a big supporter of D’Amore and his attempts at trying to get a bigger budget for TNA from Anthem.

Nordholm reportedly was the key official who okayed TNA’s offers made to Will Ospreay, CM Punk, and Nic Nemeth that were stated to have been for significantly more money than anyone else on TNA’s current roster.

Meltzer reported that following D’Amore’s firing and the decision to not invest more money into TNA, Anthem officials made the decision to also relieve Nordholm of all of his duties with TNA. Meltzer also reported that while Nordholm was released from TNA, he still remains working for Anthem.
