Booker T Health & NXT Absence Status Update

As noted before, NXT commentator Booker T has been away from WWE’s NXT brand since earlier this month due to a medical procedure he underwent.

In a recent episode of The Hall of Famer with Booker T & Brad Gilmore podcast, Booker T provided an update stating that he will be returning to WWE’s NXT commentary team at tonight’s NXT show.

“I’m going back to work. I’m going back to work [Tuesday], guys. Make sure you catch me on NXT. I can’t wait to get back, I’m excited. I’m probably about 98 percent, and I’m good to go.”

Booker T also provided an update on his recovery from his medical procedure stating that it went down very well and he had healed up pretty quickly.

“My procedure went very, very well. I healed up pretty quickly. I’m not in any pain or anything right now. So I’m looking forward to getting back to work. I hate being idle, sitting at home not doing a whole lot.”

Two New Matches Expected for Card of WrestleMania 40

This past Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 event in Perth, Australia featured AJ Styles interfering in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match to cost LA Knight the chance to win the match. This match also featured Logan Paul costing Randy Orton his chance to also win the match after he attacked Orton with brass knuckles leading to Drew McIntyre scoring the final pinfall for the match victory.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in Sunday’s Daily Update that his sources confirmed that WWE officials currently have scheduled for both Paul vs. Orton and Styles vs. Knight to be added to the card of this April’s WrestleMania 40 event.

Piper Niven Reportedly Suffered Hand Injury

Piper Niven has been noticeably absent from in-ring action for WWE since earlier this month and was also absent from last Monday’s RAW show which featured the Last Chance Battle Royal match for the final spot in this year’s Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the reason for Niven’s current absence is due to her recently suffering a hand injury. It was reported that WWE officials had initially feared that Niven had suffered a broken hand.

No other details were given regarding the timeline for Niven’s recovery and potential return date.
