Byron Saxton Fills in for Booker T at Tuesday’s NXT Show

As noted before, NXT commentator Booker T has been away from WWE’s NXT brand since this past Sunday due to a medical procedure he underwent. SmackDown commentator Wade Barrett filled in for Booker T at this past Sunday’s NXT Vengeance Day 2024 event.

At the start of tonight’s show, it was revealed that NXT LVL Up commentator Byron Saxton will be filling in for Booker T for NXT’s commentary team for the show and possibly for the time being as well.

Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker Challenges The Family for NXT Tag Titles

Tuesday’s NXT show featured the newly won 2024 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker challenging The Family to a NXT Tag Team Championship match for next week’s show.

In a ringside promo segment, Breakker and Corbin stood next to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy and talked about their victory in the Finals of this year’s tournament. Breakker stated that since they won the tournament that gives them the right to challenge for the NXT Tag Team titles. Breakker then called for The Family to come out to answer their challenge. Before anything could happen, Nathan Frazer and Axiom’s music played and they came out for their scheduled tag team match.

Following Frazer & Axiom defeating Edris Enofe & Malik Blade, Corbin and Breakker ran into the ring and attacked Frazer and Axiom from behind. This led to The Family’s Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Adriana Rizzo coming out to interrupt the attack and accepted Corbin and Breakker’s challenge for a NXT Tag title match for next week’s show. Later in the show, it was announced that this match was made official for next week.

Carmelo Hayes Reveals Why Turned on Trick Williams

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured Carmelo Hayes explaining his reasons why he turned on Trick Williams and attacked him at this past Sunday’s NXT Vengeance Day 2024 show.

Hayes was seen sitting down in a chair with a microphone in his hands and the lights turned down except for a spotlight shinning on him. Hayes stated that the villain is always the villain when the hero is telling the story but why is it that nobody wants to hear his side. Hayes claimed that he was not jealous of Trick’s success and he let him succeed and achieve the highest of highs and make his parents proud. Hayes stated that when Trick came close, he had to be the one to take it away so that he could remind Trick of his place and what happens when you cross him and bite the hand that feeds you. Hayes claimed that Trick crossed him first stating that you were going to go after the North American title while Hayes would go for the world title. Hayes then stated that the people got in your head and made you think that you were on the same level as him.

Hayes also stated that Trick went behind his back and went after something that belong to him which is when he knew what he had to do. Hayes then stated what was the question that everyone wanted to know, did he attack Trick Williams? Hayes responded stating “you damn right I did” and would do it again if he crosses him again.

Williams music then played interrupting Hayes who gave a shocked look. After a while, Williams did not come out and Hayes revealed he was just playing with everyone in the crowd and claimed that Trick is not coming back since he is in the hospital next to Booker T. Hayes stated that he has always been this way and him and Trick are not the same. Hayes then stated that Trick got so caught up in the headlines that he put “your boy” on the sidelines. Hayes also stated that nothing on this NXT brand gets run until it is ran past him. Hayes then stated that Trick wanted to be like him so bad that he even dressed and did everything that he did. Hayes called Trick just a trick and that their pairing was never a collaboration and Trick was nothing more than just as a hype man for him. Hayes stated that this is all it is and that is all Trick will ever be.
