Bobby Lashley, LA Knight, & Liv Morgan Qualify for Men’s & Women’s Elimination Chamber Matches

Monday’s RAW show featured two Men’s Elimination Chamber qualifiers and one Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifier matches.

In regards to the Men’s Elimination Chamber qualifier matches, the first Men’s qualifier match was Bobby Lashley defeating Bronson Reed.

The finish to this match involved Reed hiting a Death Valley Driver to Lashley for the near fall which led to Lashley hitting a spinebuster in return for a near fall of his own. Lashley then attempted a spear only for Reed to block it and countered with a Uranage to Lashley and followed it with a Senton. Reed then went up to the top rope to set up a Tsunami only for Lashley to leap up and grabbed Reed tossing him off the turnbuckle. Lashley the hit a spear for the pinfall victory to secure a spot in this year’s Men’s Elimination Chamber match.

The second Men’s qualifier match was LA Knight defeating Ivar.

The finish to this match involved Knight hitting a knee strike, body slam, and elbow drop combo to Ivar for a near fall. This led to Valhalla getting on the apron and distracting Knight giving Ivar the opening to hit a spin kick to Knight to lay him out. Ivar then went up to the top rope and attempted a moonsault only for Knight to dodge the attack and countered with a BFT for the pinfall victory to secure his spot in this year’s Men’s Elimination Chamber match.

In regards to the Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifier match, this Women’s Qualifier match was Liv Morgan defeating Zoey Stark.

The finish to this match involved Morgan attempting to hit the Oblivion to Stark only for Stark to counter it with a superkick for a near fall. Stark then attempted to hit a Phoenix Splash to Morgan who dodged the attack and followed it with a Codebreaker and Oblivion for the pinfall victory to secure a spot in this year’s Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Seth Rollins Offers to Be Shield for Cody Rhodes Against The Bloodline

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Seth Rollins declaring to be the “Shield” for Cody Rhodes on his quest to finally “finish the story” against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

This was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Rhodes and Rollins. Rhodes came out to the ring and talked about him getting to main event WrestleMania 40 against Reigns and thanked the fans for helping make it possible after the huge support they have shown towards him over the past week. Rhodes then turned his attention towards comments The Rock made at a recent Pat McAfee Show insulting him and his fans calling them “Cody Crybabies” and what they do with chicken nuggets. Rhodes asked McAfee what his fans are actually expected to do with the nuggets which led to McAfee giving a quiet and embarrassed response of shove them up their asses. Rhodes then stated that while he is a fan of The Rock, he claimed that the one thing The Rock does not do well is to listen. Rhodes also stated that he did nothing to defile Rock’s ancestors to get a slap in his face in return and promised that he will hit him back.

Rollins music played interrupting Rhodes and Rollins came out to the ring. Before Rollins could say anything, Rhodes thanked Rollins for coming to his aid at the press event. Rollins responded stating that he is welcome and while he was looking forwards to defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Rhodes at WrestleMania, he understands Rhodes’ decision to chose Reigns instead. Rollins stated that he wanted to make it clear to Rhodes that he needs to finish the story and to finish it for his dad, for Rollins, and for everyone here tonight. Rollins then stated that if Rhodes does not beat Roman at WrestleMania and take the Undisputed WWE Universal title, the landscape on the other side of WrestleMania is very dark. Rollins stated that Reigns is the most powerful champion of the Modern Era and the more power and leverage he gets, the less he shows up and defends his title. Rollins also claimed that the glass ceiling gets higher and same for the brass rings gets higher. Rollins then stated that this could be the last real chance they have to take that title and power and give it to the people.

Rollins also brought up how Rhodes got screwed out of the title in the main event of last year’s WrestleMania due to the Bloodline but while Rhodes did not get the job done back then, rhodes fought his way back by winning the Royal Rumble again. Rollins stated that this time Rhodes is not only just dealing with The Bloodline but also the most powerful man in the entertainment industry, The Rock, as well. Rhodes stated that Rhodes does not have to fight this battle alone and while they have no always seen eye to eye, Rhodes wanting to take everything from Roman Reigns made him feel that deep in his soul. Rollins stated that this was why at the press event after The Rock attacked Rhodes, he stepped in since he is tired of these entitled pricks getting away with it. Rollins then referenced his past with Reigns in the Shield and stated that he is partially responsible for Reigns becoming the monster he is now and how that monster now has two heads, Reigns and The Rock. Rollins then stated that when it comes to fighting the Bloodline, The Rock, and Reigns, there is only one man on Earth who is suited to be Rhodes’ shield in this fight, which he revealed to be himself before walking away.

IC Title Match & More Announced for Next Week’s RAW Show

Monday’s RAW show also featured the official announcement of an Intercontinental Championship match of Jey Uso vs. Gunther (c) for the card of next week’s RAW show on February 19th in Anaheim, California.

This match was initially setup during last week’s show following Uso interrupting Gunther’s 600 days title celebration and challenging Gunther to a match for his Intercontinental title.

Following New Day and Uso’s victory over Imperium in a six-man tag team match during tonight show, Uso and New Day were seen backstage celebrating their victory. RAW backstage interviewer Cathy Kelly walked in interrupting their celebrations and inform Uso that he will be getting a shot against Gunther for his Intercontinental title at next week’s RAW show.
