Sting Comments on Upcoming Retirement Match & How He Wants His Career to Be Remembered

The New York Post held a recent interview with Sting. One of the topics discussed included Sting’s thoughts about his upcoming retirement match at this Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2024 event.

“I just want wrestling fans to be entertained. I want it to be a night to remember, a night where no one would say, ‘Ah man, it was just kind of sad. You can tell it just kind of passed him by. Well, good thing he’s done now.’

I don’t want that. I want them to go, ‘Oh my god, how does he do that?’ I want them to say, the Bucks, Darby, Sting all of them, that was so entertaining. That’s a night to remember. That’s all I ever cared about.”

Sting also gave his thoughts about how he would like his career legacy to be remembered by wrestling fans.

“I’d like to be remembered as Sting the guy who brought it every night. Sting the guy who never really changed. He was just rock solid through and through all the years and he was a man of God.”

Lance Archer Comments on Meat Madness Match Being Pulled from AEW Revolution 2024

A recent episode of the Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast featured Lance Archer as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Archer’s thoughts about AEW’s decision to pull the Meat Madness match and replace it with an All-Star Scramble match for AEW Revolution 2024.

“I think it was just a fun name. Some people liked it, some people didn’t, but that’s just how it is these days on the internet especially. They love to hate just to hate. I think it was gonna be ultimately a really fun match. You already had Will Hobbs, Wardlow, and myself. Obviously, the reason it changed because there was supposed to be some more big, meaty men involved in it that couldn’t be involved in it. So instead of trying to make it less meaty, we decided to push it off. But now we have the eight-man All-Star Scramble, which obviously the winner of that, me, is going to become the number one contender for the AEW World Heavyweight Title.”
