Matt Hardy Expiring AEW Contract Status Update

As noted before, Matt Hardy’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire by the end of this month.

In a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, co-host Hardy provided an update on the status of his current contract with AEW and talks for a potential new deal.

“Nothing really new. No updates to be given. Just still conversing, still in the midst of negotiation, figuring out what’s going on. So no real updates on that, but thank you guys for asking and giving a shit.”

Two New Matches Announced for Saturday’s AEW Collision Show

AEW announced two new matches for the card of tonight’s AEW Collision show at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The first new match announced was a singles match of PAC vs. Komander.

This match was setup following a recent ad video hyping up tonight’s show.

The second new match announced was a singles match of “Zodiac” Zak Knight vs. “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker.

This match was setup following Friday’s Rampage show involving Parker making his return after being “injured” at the hands of Knight and the bad blood issues in recent weeks over Saraya’s jealousy of Ruby Soho dating Parker and splitting from the Outcasts.

Current card for March 16th AEW Collision show:

  • TBS Championship Open House match – Trish Adora vs. Julia Hart (c)
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Wild Card match of The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Capt. Shawn Dean) vs. House Of Black (Brody King & Buddy Matthews)
  • Kyle O’Reilly vs. “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith
  • Katsuyori Shibata vs. Bryan Danielson
  • PAC vs. Komander
  • “Zodiac” Zak Knight vs. “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker

Katsuyori Shibata AEW Return Update

As noted before, Katsuyori Shibata will be making his return to AEW at tonight’s AEW Collision show after being away from the company since this past November due to visa-related issues.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Shibata’s visa situation got rectified earlier this week and this was the reason for AEW’s decision to quickly book him in a big match against Bryan Danielson for this week’s Collision show.

It was reported that Shibata being forced to return to Japan this past November due to urgent visa-related issues was the reason why he dropped the ROH Pure Championship to Wheeler Yuta. Tony Khan reportedly still had big hopes and plans for Shibata while Shibata was stated to be very happy in AEW.
