Saturday’s AEW Collision show at the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario, Canada featured Ricky Starks suffering a potential head-related injury.
This potential injury took place during the Quarterfinal Round match between Top Flight and Big Bill & Ricky Starks for AEW’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament. Near the end of the match, Starks appeared to land awkwardly on his head following being hit with a Tornado DDT by Darius Martin. This led to Starks not getting up and the referee counting to three in a likely audible call made on the spot. This initially caught AEW’s production crew off guard who played Starks’ music first before quickly correcting it to Top Flight’s music revealing that Starks & Bill were very likely originally planned to win the match.
Following the match, the referee quickly checked on Starks and called for the ringside doctor to attend to Starks in the ring.
