As noted before, Matt Hardy’s contract with AEW was set to expire by the end of this March and was recently given a new contract offer.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Hardy made the decision to allow his contract with AEW to expire and not sign a new contract with the company.
Sapp reported reported that Hardy is currently a free agent as of midnight on Monday as a result.
Prior to his departure, Hardy had been with AEW since March of 2020. Hardy’s brother Jeff Hardy has been with AEW since March of 2022.
