WWE Unveils Newly Renamed & Designed WWE Tag Team Titles at Friday’s SmackDown Show

Friday’s SmackDown show also featured the official debut of newly designed SmackDown Tag Team Championship belts.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was in the ring standing next to a podium that had something covered under a cloth. Aldis welcomed everyone to WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who came out to the ring.

Following an intro speech that was very similar in tone and setup to the speech he gave at this past Monday’s RAW show, Levesque called for the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions A-Town Down to come out to the ring.

Grayson Waller and Austin Theory made their way to the ring. Waller stated that on Monday, Triple H awarded the second place tag team to Awesome Truth on RAW and tonight he will get to present the real winners at WrestleMania with their new championships. Theory talked about R-Truth calling Triple H a magician and stated that he does not know what kind of magic trick he has that will make them look better than they already are.

Triple H interrupted their antics and congratulated them on becoming new Tag Team Champions and stated that from now on, they will be holding the WWE Tag Team Championship. Triple H then took off the cloth that was covering the new WWE Tag titles that resembles the old WWF Tag Team titles from the 1990s. Triple H then extended his hand to shake Waller’s hand but Waller laughed and shook Theory’s hand instead leaving Triple H hanging. This led to Aldis threatening Waller telling him if he disrespects Triple H again, he will make “A-Town Clown Under” disappear.

Aldis grabbed A-Town Down Under’s old SmackDown Tag Team title and stated that a number one contender for the WWE Tag team titles will be officially determined by a Fatal Four-way tag team match that will start right now.

In a follow-up match, The Street Profits defeated Legado Del Fantasma, Authors of Pain, and New Catch Republic in a Fatal Four-way match to earn a shot at the new WWE Tag Team Championship.

Solo Sikoa Names Tama Tonga Official Bloodline Member & His “MFT”

Heyman responded Owens is in the arena leading to Sikoa asking Heyman to bring him to Owens.

In a follow-up backstage segment, Heyman apologized to Sikoa saying that they can not find Owens but promised that they will do so. Sikoa attempted to walk away only to be stopped by Heyman leading to Heyman stating that respectfully, Sikoa is making decisions that are not his year and these can only be made by one man. This led to a “We want Roman” chants by the crowd in response. Sikoa responded back asking Heyman if he was done leading to Heyman responding back asking Sikoa if his “MFT” is coming with them. Sikoa proceeded to raise his thumb leading to him and Heyman walking to the ring.

In another follow-up segment, Heyman and Sikoa were seen in the ring. After some Heyman-style introductory words by Heyman, the crowd interrupted chanting “We want Roman” to Heyman and Sikoa. Before Heyman was able to continue, Sikoa grabbed the microphone away from his hands. After some booing and “Solo sucks” chants by the crowd, Sikoa stated that he had to lose a brother in order for him to find a new one. This new one stated by Sikoa to be his MFT, Tama Tonga.

This led to the camera cutting away to the stage and Owens being tossed out by Tonga. After some more attacks by Tonga sending Owens down the ramp, WWE officials came out trying to break it up. Tonga then heading to the ring leaving a bloody Owens behind him. WWE officials tried to get Owens to the back for some treatment only for Owens to get into the ring and engaged in a brawl with Tonga that quickly led to Tonga and Sikoa getting the upper hand before more WWE officials and security came out to break it up.
