ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reported that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently hopeful of hosting a future WWE Royal Rumble or WrestleMnaia event.
Coppinger reported that Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Chairman Turki Alalshikh had informed him that an “enhancement” of the Saudi’s current contract with WWE will be officially announced later this month and will be signed this June.
Alalshikh stated that Saudi officials are currently hoping to bring either WWE’s Royal Rumble or WrestleManai event to their country as part of the terms for this new deal.
Coppinger stated:
“Alalshikh said an enhancement to Saudi Arabia’s existing agreement with WWE will be announced later this month. Specifically, Alalshikh is looking to bring January’s annual Royal Rumble or WWE’s top event, WrestleMania, to Saudi Arabia.”
WWE’s current 10-year contract with Saudi Arabia signed in 2018 has included WWE holding two major events annually in the country. WWE’s next event in the country will be the King & Queen of the Ring 2024 event, which takes place on May 25th in Jeddah.
