TNA Announces Three New Matches for Against All Odds 2024

TNA Wrestling announced three new matches for the card of Against All Odds 2024, which takes place on June 14th at the Cicero Stadium in Chicago, Illinois.

The first new match announced was a TNA World Championship match of “Broken” Matt Hardy vs. Moose (c).

The second new match announced was TNA World Tag Team Championship match of Ryan & Nic Nemeth vs. The System (Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards) (c).

The third new match announced was a TNA X-Division Championship match of Trent Seven vs. Mustafa Ali (c).

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced the full card for their co-promoted United Japan Pro Wrestling’s All Together Sapporo event, which takes place on June 15th at the Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center in Sapporo, Japan.

LEC, Inc. Announces Ending of Their Longtime Sponsorship of Pro Wrestling Industry

Shukan Bunshun reported that Japanese household goods manufacturer L.E.C. (Life, Enjoyment, & Convenience) will be ending their sponsorship of the pro wrestling industry starting this July.

It was reported that the reason for the decision is due to current L.E.C. President Takaki Nagamori will be stepping down from his position in the company at a shareholders meeting this June and L.E.C. Chairman and CEO Mitsuo Aoki will be taking over that role.

When contacted for comments, Aoki stated in response:

“Our involvement in the pro wrestling industry will end in June.”

It was reported that they had contacted NJPW for an official statement and were told in response:

“We will refrain from responding to inquiries regarding individual transactions.”

Post Wrestling’s Andrew Thompson reported that Nagamori had been well known for being a big supporter and fan of pro wrestling. Nagamori also had been very influential in the company sponsoring several wrestling promotions in Japan, including NJPW and Dragon Gate.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Thursday’s TNA Impact! show featured Jordynne Grace defeating Marti Belle to retain her TNA Knockouts World Championship. Following the match, The Hex’s Allysin Kay ran out and attacked Grace leading to Belle joining in on her tag team partner’s attack. TNA provided an update on Twitter stating that Grace had suffered a legitimate torn ear injury as the result of The Hex’s attack on her at the show.

Major League Wrestling announced that tickets sale for their upcoming Battle Riot VI event on June 1st in Atlanta, Georgia recently reached sold out status.

MLW also announced that Jesus Rodriguez is the next official competitor for this year’s Battle Riot match at their Battle Riot VI event on June 1st in Atlanta.

MLW officials reportedly is currently planning to undergo site surveys in California for potential locations for future events for the company, according to PWInsider. Mike Johnson reported that MLW officials have had the long term goal of holding an event in the Los Angeles market.

As noted before, former WWE NXT and Impact Wrestling talent Kimber Lee was arrested in May of 2023 following a DUI incident involving the assault of a police officer in Serbing, Florida. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Lee’s scheduled pre-trial hearing this past Wednesday before the Highlands County Court in Florida did not take place based on recent court records. Johnson reported that the reason why this hearing was not held is currently not known but a new hearing is currently scheduled for June 26th.

Westside Xtreme Wrestling recently announced that Trevor Lee (former Cameron Grimes in WWE) will be making an appearance for the company at their Shortcut to the Top event on August 10th in Oberhausen, Germany.

NJPW recently announced that CMLL talent Hechicero will be making an appearance for the company at their Fantasticamania USA 2024 event on July 13th in San Jose, California.

In a recent episode of the Right Down The Middle podcast, ECW legend and host Bill Alfonso stated that he was recently contacted by the BBC for an interview about his time with Giant Gonzalez in wrestling. Alfonso stated “So BBC just contacted me today and they want to interview me. They want to talk about Giant Gonzalez. I was an assistant for three years for him. We traveled the world. Man, we were on movies, and Baywatch, and Hulk Hogan’s Thunder in Paradise, and all kinds of shows, and [it was] really cool.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
