AEW held a new television taping for AEW Collision on Wednesday at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
This taping will be for this Saturday’s episode on July 13th.
In regards to notable moments from the tapings, FTR’s Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood made their surprise return to AEW. Following Konosuke Takeshita’s victory over “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington, Don Callis offered Billington membership into the Don Callis Family. Billington rejected Callis’ offer leading to him being attacked by Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. This led to FTR making their surprise return and ran out to save Billington. This was Harwood’s first appearance in AEW since the June 8th AEW Collision show due to Harwood being pulled from action over him suffering from a hidden hematoma injury.
In regards to championships, Wednesday’s tapings also featured Bang Bang Gang being stripped of their AEW Unified World Trios Championship. During the show, the Bang Bang Gang attempted to invoke the Freebird rule for Juice Robinson to be made an official Trios champion due to them stating that Christian Cage had injured Jay White at last week’s show. This led to Interim EVP Christopher Daniels coming out and rejected their attempt and stripped them of the belts instead.
