As noted before, The Motor City Machine Guns’ Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin’s contracts with TNA Wrestling expired at the end of this past March. The Motor City Machine Guns have been in talks with AEW for some time for a potential deal. Besides AEW, WWE has also been interested in MCMG was rumored to have signed them to a contract.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the current expectation is that the Motor City Machine Guns will be joining WWE. Meltzer reported that while nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the current talk within the wrestling industry is that Shelley and Sabin will be heading to WWE.
Meltzer reported that while Shelley and Sabin gave their in-ring goodbyes to indie wrestling at an indie event for Prestige Wrestling on July 12th, they are currently booked for another indie event on August 18th for Smash Wrestling.
Meltzer also reported that while MCMG has been in talks with AEW and WWE for a potential new deal, WWE is believed to have made the better offer of the two for the team. This reportedly has led to the belief within the wrestling industry of them heading to WWE.
Meltzer also reported that Shelley and Sabin have been completely silent about their current free agency talks and clearly have made their decision one way or the other.
