WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been noticeably absent from AEW since this past March’s Revolution 2023 event, which featured Sting’s retirement match.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that the reason for Flair’s current absence is due to his working relationship with AEW had recently finished. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Flair had not been factored into any creative plans for the time being and his name had not been brought up creatively in “quite some time.”
In regards to AEW’s partnership with Flair’s Wooo! Energy drink, Sapp reported that the partnership deal between the two sides has effectively finished. This sponsorship had been notable for basically having paid for all of Flair’s appearances in AEW.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that Flair and his Wooo! Energy drink sponsorship deals with AEW are over baring some sudden changes.
Flair had been working for AEW since October of 2023.
