As noted before, Ricochet’s contract with WWE expired this past Monday and is currently expected to be joining AEW.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that Ricochet is currently expected to debut in AEW soon.
In regards to Ricochet’s final appearance for WWE on the June 10th RAW show, Meltzer reported that Ricochet’s angle with Bron Breakker that involved Breakker attacking him and sending him hospitalized was designed to be his send off from the company. Meltzer reported that those spoken to within WWE at the time stated that they believed it would be Ricochet’s last appearance for the company but he still had some weeks left in his contract. Several WWE talents spoken to reportedly questioned why WWE officials put so much focus on the angle that it would make people think he would be brought back to continue the storyline.
