Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre held a press conference in Mexico City, Mexico ahead of tonight’s 2024 Grand Prix de Amazonas (International Women’s Grand Prix) event at the Arena Mexico in the city.
During the press conference, it was announced that AEW referee Aubrey Edwards will be making her official debut appearance for CMLL as one of the official referees for the Women’s Grand Prix Elimination match.

Following the press conference, Edwards reflected on Twitter thanking CMLL for the invitation for their event.

This year’s Women’s Grand Prix event will be featuring a Grand Prix Elimination match between Team Mexico (Amapola, Dark Silueta, Hera, Kira, Lluvia, Princesa Sugehit, Reyna Isis, Sanely, Skadi, & Zeuxis) and Team World (Nightingale, Velvet, Alex Windsor, La Catalina, Persephone, Samantha Black, Sumika Yanagawa, Tessa Blanchard, Unagi Sayaka, & Viva Van). The last remaining competitor of the match will be declared the winner of this year’s Women’s Grand Prix.
